These are a great shape and size, and the matte black looks really sleek. They come with nonskid pads that fit perfectly on the bottoms, and also with sticky pads to keep them in place. I opted not to use those because I don't want them to leave marks on my mantel. I think they'll be great for empty stockings at Christmas time. I'm not in love with them as "garland hooks," though. I have two lightweight garlands (one with pennant-style banners and one with little yarn balls) hanging from them. These hooks are not heavy enough on the top to stay flat. The weight of the garlands pulls them toward the center of the mantle and pulls them over, and the garlands fall off. I have to weigh the hooks down with something sitting on top to keep them from toppling over sideways and losing the garlands.

I've wanted stocking holders for years but just didn't believe they'd work with full stockings. I'm so glad these do! I bent each one to just the right angle against my mantle and then added the sticky gum pad. These are not stickers that will ruin your faux wood mantle. These are more of a removable gummy, sticky pad. I hung a weighted grocery bag to see if they would hold a heavy stocking without slipping. It totally held.I'm so excited to actually have my kids' stockings hanging this year instead of sitting on the stone ledge in front of the fireplace!

We tried a similar set to these last year but had to return them after we found they would not work on a flat front mantle. These did the trick and seem to be a much better option.

Fits great on my mantel. I needed something low profile to fit under my garland but also not a clamp type since my mantel is super thick. These work great and look amazing! Perfect for any style and sturdy enough to hold our custom velvet and needlepoint stockings.

This has solved the problems I had with other products with a 3" thick concrete mantle. Other products had an inwards tilt that seem to be made for a ledge less than 1" thick. This came with anti-slip pads or adhesive pads that you can stick to the bottom of the top edge. The metal construction seems to be more than up to the job of holding any reasonably stuffed stocking.
