Worked well. The left and right marked on the gear pieces doesn’t correspond with online videos. They have to be installed on the opposite side, but they work correctly that way.

Specifically looked for tool that would work on jeep wrangler jl 3.6 which this listed it did fit. The radius on the cam locks was incompatible and none of the chain tension tools seemed to be the correct fit as well. I would say the price is reasonable if the tools actually fit the application listed, but they don't.

4 stars because four whatever reason NONE of these aftermarket kits come with the "grenade pin" that's the pin that retains the left chain tensioner in place.i work at a mopar dealer and use this kit often simply because the factory supplied tools are always in use so for the price it's a no brainer to get my own kit, these SEEM to be from an OEM supplier as they have the OE markings abd part numbers on them at a fraction or OE prices.if i have to replace them every few years ( my second set in 5 years) it's still great value. for the NON dealer techs these should last a long time the case is a huge plus

After doing a head replacement on a Journey with the 3.6 there was some lifter tick from the front head. Using this kit I was able to take tension of the chain and without removing the cam completely lift it up and replace the lifters and rockers. Saved me a bunch of time.

Bought this for my 2014 dodge caravan to fix a blown headgasket. BEFORE taking my heads off first I lined up all my timing marks, locked up my cams, THEN proceeded to take my chains and tensioners off. I didn't really use the long t shaped tensioner lockup tools in my job, as I just replaced all those parts while I was in there during the rebuild. Anyway self explanatory I ended up just replacing all my chains and tensioners, slapped my heads back on, reassembled the engine and it's been running great ever since.

Well it was my first time doing this job. There should be one or two more straight grenade pins to lock the tensioner . The two 90s are to undo the ratchet mechanism of the tensioner. Other then that then tool is already paying for Its self
