This camera has the ability to connect wirelessly or hardwired into your network, and can send notifications to your phone through the included app. It needs to be plugged in and does not have a hardwired power option. Other than that, the app is solid and functional with the ability to pan the camera and enable night vision modes. Great security camera for budgets!

This is a review for the ZOSI C290 Plug-in 4MP 2.5K QHD Pan/Tilt Wired WiFi Security IP Camera Outdoor Indoor, PT Wireless Camera with Color Night Vision, AI Human & Vehicle Detection, Auto Tracking, Siren Alarm, 2-Way Audio.This is an indoor/outdoor security camera that uses 12V power and features both color and monochrome video capture with audio. The camera is mounted on a sturdy base that allows for flexible movement, panning approximately 90 degrees up and down and rotating nearly 360 degrees. When installed at an elevated position, it provides coverage for a large area.Rather than writing an exhaustive review, I’ll focus on a few key features that I think will be of interest to both basic and advanced users.The build quality is good. The camera arrived well-packaged with no visible defects. The base is solid and provides multiple mounting options, including ceiling, eaves, and wall installation. It comes with four mounting screws and anchors, useful for securing it to sheetrock or other soft materials. I used the provided screws to attach it directly to the wall, flush with the ceiling. The mount measures about 4 inches (10 cm) wide, with the upper mounting face extending 2.5 inches (6.4 cm), and the camera itself is slightly under 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter.The camera is managed through the "Zosi Smart" app, which is required for setup and accessing captured content. Although the app requires account registration, I did not encounter any mandatory subscription fees. The app requests reasonable permissions such as Bluetooth and WiFi access. It can be a bit challenging to use at first, with some settings not being immediately obvious, but after adding the first camera, navigation becomes much smoother.One limitation is that the camera only supports 2.4 GHz networks, not 5.0 GHz. Additionally, I found it difficult to locate the device’s IP address. The app does not display this information, so I had to manually identify it from my router’s list of connected devices. This might be an inconvenience for users looking to integrate the camera into a broader network setup. I did find another method using the Zoshi "Search Tool V2" offered on their support web site. More on that later...Motion capture and live tracking are key features of this camera. Enabling motion detection is straightforward—simply toggle the setting in the app. However, the camera did not initially track movement until I adjusted the "Intelligent Algorithm" settings, selecting "Human Detection." Once enabled, the camera followed me as I moved through the coverage area. However, when I rotated the camera 180 degrees to face a wall, it did not return to its original monitoring position automatically. I had to manually reposition it to resume tracking. Additionally, I found that if I quickly moved out of its field of view, the tracking stopped until I re-entered the frame. While the camera offers preset positions that can be manually toggled in the app, I did not find an option to automatically cycle through these positions.I also tested RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol), a feature I consider essential for video cameras. The camera does support RTSP, but setting it up requires specific information. First, set a device password in the app. Then, use the following URL format in a streaming tool like VLC:`rtsp://admin:@/video1`It’s important to note that the URL format may not always be obvious, and you need to manually enter the username (`admin`) and password when connecting. This allows for video and audio streaming but does not provide pan/tilt control.The camera supports two-way audio and features a loud alarm, which is effective for security purposes. The audio quality is good, and unlike my Ring doorbell, conversations are clear, with only a slight delay.Night vision is well-implemented, with multiple options. The color mode activates a bright LED spotlight for clear footage. The black-and-white mode relies on two red infrared LEDs and does not use the spotlight. There is also a hybrid mode that monitors in infrared and switches to color with the spotlight when motion is detected.Would I return this camera to Amazon after using it for a few days? Probably not. It offers solid performance with high-quality video, motion tracking, and RTSP support, which is a must for my setup. While the app has a learning curve, spending time configuring it properly ensures a smooth experience. This camera is a great choice for those who want strong video quality and advanced tracking features, provided they are willing to invest a bit of time in setup and customization.

I like the product but I needed wireless with WiFi capability and upon inspection I needed to be able to hook up cat 5 cable outside. Not possible in rainy Florida.
