Following the assembly instructions were a bit tricky, not actually hard but knowing what to do took a few views of the youtube video. Once I figured it out, it was pretty simple to assemble. The other tricky part was screwing it in place, as my skylights were about 12-14 feet up, which took some balancing miracles to do this solo, getting at least one screw in to start, after that it was a breeze. Two notes:1. measure, measure, measure. The skylight glass, the opening near the glass and the opening near the ceiling were all slightly different. Go with the smallest dimensions, any gaps you can fill in but if you are too big on any of these, it will never fit into place.2. the batteries last a really long time, amazing! I ordered this Dec. 2023 and use it about 4-5 times a week, it is Feb. 2025 and today is the first day I am having to recharge the battery! I almost got the solar add-on because I was afraid of battery life but my goodness, over a year later and this is my first charge since install! Just don't lose the charger, place it somewhere you will remember in a year. The remote is still going strong, no battery changes.

I was a bit hesitant on this product having few reviews, but glad I followed through. Assembly was fairly simple. I had a confusing issue where the product assembly video required me to disassemble part of the product to get it to align in the same way as the video, but once I figured that out things were smooth (there’s very few pieces). Make sure you measure the narrowest part of your frame if you’re internally mounting it as I didn’t and ended up having the chisel the wall. There’s a feature that causes an upper limit to be set and I accidentally triggered it during installation but after reaching out to the seller they helped me figure it out quickly - this should be more clearly documented. All in all a good product. Spend the extra $30 to get the Tuya smart gateway so you can hook it up to alexa or google - I regret not doing so.

The shade is ok looking. The remote seems to have stopped working and when I search I can't find any instructions on how to configure it our troubleshoot it.I found the company site and tried sending a chat. No response yet. I also don't see a way to ask a question here as there is with other products.

These are quality blinds. They work good. The only thing I would recommend is better instructions and remote control instructions to set the high limit and low limit . But Customer service provided me with everything I needed to get it running and it works flawlessly. Thank you so much.!

This shade works well for our skylight so far. Assembly and installation were relatively easy after watching the instructional videos. We got the solar panel, so I installed it with the charging port facing the skylight so nothing shows from beneath.Installation tip: I used two adjustable tension shower curtain rods to hold the shade frame in place while I installed the screws into the side rails.

I bought two of these, the battery options that plug in to charge, and internet adapters. One of the units works just like I hoped and I'm very happy with it. The second one, not so much (more on that below.) As far as the fit goes, I couldn't have been more pleased, I measured the skylight frame opening, not the drywall opening (intentionally), and I removed the skylight frame and installed these in them, a very snug fit, then reinstalled the skylights. That is the only possible way you can install these if your dimensions are bigger than the drywall opening. It makes for a very clean looking install. I'd only recommend this way for someone who understands and is confident in their abilities. If you're unsure, definitely follow their instructions carefully. These are shipped in tube cylinders and require assembly of the frame, but the electrical wires are already spliced, connected and sealed.Unfortunately one of my units wires detached during shipping, because part the hardware was sliding back and forth, putting a lot of pressure on the wires and breaking their connections.Thankfully, it was obvious which wires went where, and I had no problems twisting the wires together and sealing with electrical tape. Overall, if that was the only issue, I'd be rating 5 stars.I am unsure if that issue has any bearing on the real problem for me (I'm not sure which one had the wire issue from shipping as I quickly fixed that issue.)The problem is: one of the motor's or battery will not operate normally. Technically it will open and close, but only after repeated commands on the remote, up, down, up, down, up, down, up, down...etc. It needs time between each button press to move a little bit and stop. It will move just a hair at first, then after a few clicks it will move a centimeter, up, down, and I should note it moves slowly compared to normal. Then, it will suddenly work completely normally, either direction, no issues, at normal speed and will continue to work normally for a couple minutes at least. Thankfully I have the other fully operational one to know what is normal. It is not a binding issue, the motor isn't being stressed. After it decides to work, it will close and open all the way without issue, even 5 minutes later it usually will work fine. After a little while though 10-15 minutes and beyond, the same process is needed to open or close it.This is especially disappointing because I bought these with the intent of automation, using the internet adapters. Obviously I can't use that feature with this issue, unless I was to figure out a way to have the unit programed to open and close once a second, 20 times in a row.I obviously should have asked for a refund or warranty, but I received the item right before a vacation and by the time I installed it and figured out the problem, it was out of the 30 day window. If anyone from this company has any advice, I'd welcome it. It seems that it must be either the battery or the motor being defective, as once it's 'warmed up' it works normally.I consider this to be a major issue, but I only went as low as 3 stars because the other unit is functioning perfectly and is everything I hoped it would be, and because I failed to act within the 30 day window.
