The perfect beginner's Wooden Dummy and fits in my small space indoors. Took longer than expected to ship it across country (11 days west coast to east coast), but well worth it. Easy to assemble and very high quality materials, the wooden arms and leg are really nice. After about 3-4 weeks of trying it out, it's giving me everything I wanted out of it, great complement to training on forms, plus it makes working out on it a really fun experience that I've been wanting for many years. I'm really glad I pulled the trigger on this. The arms appear to now have reinforced metal collars on one end to minimize the damage from the metal insertion points, but I still recommend taping the arms' back end and the contact points for the leg piece which don't have the new metal collar. I followed other reviewer's advice and put approx 50lbs of "pond pebbles" from Home Despot from bottom up to where the leg is (not higher than that) and this does make the base more stable. The suction cups do work, however they appear loose and somewhat "weak", but the dummy is still stable enough to work with (I don't' pound it too hard, and it can take quite a bit of punching and pulling without feeling like it's going to fall over - the pond pebble weighting helps). The iron body is hollow on top, so you may want to cover it to keep things from falling in or for aesthetics. I put an old Mongolian winter hat on it and call it "Vlad".

I'm yet another satisfied customer. The item came quickly, the price is good, the body will last, and the quality is good. Not too light but if you like to go harder then you can very easily add some weight. Put a little tape or something where metal makes contact with wood arms and you protect it. Overall very good. It looks nice. I'm happy.

Item arrived ahead of expected delivery date. Easy-to-follow assembly instructions. Item works great, is well-designed and durable (I expect it will outlast me). Mine is located on a concrete basement floor: exhibits just the right amount of movement when used, without any danger of tipping over. Great value, and looks terrific to boot!

I bought this because I don’t have a lot of space for a real wooden dummy, and wanted an affordable, supplemental practice dummy outside of my school. The keyword here is supplemental. It’s not the same springiness as the wall-mounted version, but feels good enough when it rocks back and forth. Because it is freestanding, the rocking is a teetering motion and not just a forward and backward motion. The body is slimmer than my school’s dummy, I don’t think this matters much. The arms and legs have wiggle room, which is good. If I didn’t have access to a real wooden dummy in a school, I would have bought something nicer. The body is made of metal but the arms and legs are wood. It doesn’t really cheapen the feeling, but without the pads the body will make a metallic sound when hit. Hitting the arms makes a more wooden sound, though. The product I received does not have a large hideous logo on the padding and the whole dummy is a little darker than shown here. You’ll need two of the same crescent wrenches to bolt the base on the body and one of those to put the suction cups into the base plates. The instructions are easy to figure out. There are two separate plates to the base, they don’t quite line up and are annoying to look at but you can choose to ignore that. What will also be annoying to look at eventually is when the paint on the wood fades from normal wear and tear and won’t match the metal body anymore. The pins in the back have started to chip off paint already from moving around while the arms are getting hit. The wear pattern and fading won’t look as elegant as a real wooden dummy, which is the compromise of getting an affordable dummy. It’s worth noting that the leg is made of two pieces of wood that you’ll attach together with two hex wrench driven screws. There are pilot holes to facilitate doing this but there are no recesses for the head of the screws to sit in so they just sort of stick out a bit.Sometimes my toes touch the base plate, but I’m wearing shoes so it doesn’t matter. The suction cups make the whole thing a little quieter when rocking around on the ground. The arms and legs are as loud as a real wooden dummy’s, so I wrapped those and the pins with socks with the toes cut off to insulate the sound. Pro tip. I’m on the third floor and don’t want to bother my neighbors. Some other reviewers are saying they filled it with sand, it appears you can do this as the main body is closed at the bottom. I just put two dumbbells on the base in the back for now and that seems to add enough stabilizing weight. I’ll probably look into adding sand as well. You’re not really supposed to be wailing on the thing full force, that’s what punching bags are for.I gave this one less star because it’s not precisely machined. Overall good enough, though.

So, I did tons of research trying to find the best deal on a full Jong. I had a wall mount one that was nice, but I really wanted the real thing. I looked all over the internet, read reviews...alot of bad experience with ones from China, poor quality and long shipping times. Like a year I looked and shopped, did resurch. I found that the solid wooden ones are consistently $200 dollars more than the Iron body. Because of shipping, the cost of the weight just cost more. This one was $369 WITH shipping on Amazon prime. It's my birthday, finally bought it. It took only three days to get here! Amazon fullfilment is in my city, they had it in stock. They shipped it US Mail, a huge parsal I guess? It was too heavy to deliver by the mail man. Took an extra two days to track down and pick it up. This thing is NICE! The metal body is not thin, cheap metal like I expected it to be. It is solid, .0598 16 guage steel with a fully welded one piece base that bolts solid to a 2 piece foot plate. The nice quality 12suction cups bolt to the foot plate.( I bought a precut 2ft square piece of 1" MDF board at Home Depot for like 8 bucks to set it on as my work out room has carpet) The suction cups hold strong on the smooth board. The arms and legs are beautiful. Man, I expected cheap finish, but got luxury! I was ok with having to refinish the arms and legs if needed, but the finish is deep and smooth. Really well done, a beatiful deep red and and smooth as glass. The three wooden pegs are finished too. The leg comes in two pieces, and steel Alan head screws. The leg is fairly solid, but the screws are not counter sunk. I took some advise from another review and bought some River rocks from the hardware too. Three 50 pound(?) bags filled it up to the top. Fill it to the leg, put in the leg, filled it to the arms-put in the arms, top it off. Now the Jong is SOLID! Like a real wooden pillar, actually better. The feel is awesome! The pads are not decorated like in the picture, but are black and Velcro on, solid enough to punch with authority, without pain. Mine came with two. The holes for the arms and legs are lined up correct, but they are not in exact line with the square of the base. It effects nothing but my desire for uniformity. It makes the base corners out of square with the leg and arms. I do wish it was a bit bigger. I'm 6ft, 230 and it is a little small for me but also not a real issue. I can adapt my form. Overall, a real great economy priced Mook Jong that turned out to be a real gem! I would buy this again, and wish I had done it sooner! Good job Augusta and Amazon.
