I bought these to allow a link of chain to drop down to add a hanging sign "Event Parking -->" on days we have weddings on our farm. On most every other day, we don't want this sign, but I don't want the hardware to be hanging down from our post cross arm. This wing nut allows me to quickly take down the parking sign, push up the link of chain and retighten the wing nut so everything looks clean.
