For any diabetic (or anyone else having to give themselves injections) it can be an issue while traveling.. what to do with your used needles. These little containers are 4 inches tall and will make traveling with needles much more convenient! This comes as a set of two, which is perfect if you travel AND have an RV, vacation home or whatever else that you may need the second one for.Opening the top is easy.. which makes these non childproof. Be sure to keep put up if littles are around. To close you just slide the red tab til it covers the gap. Be careful to NOT slide the red tab completely to the edge!! This permanently closes the container, as it slides the triangle notch under the yellow tab and locks it shut. I think it takes a little more force to get it to close that far so you definitely have to TRY to do that.Supposedly, these containers are reusable, once emptied by squeezing the lid and popping the top off. So there must be some way to slide the locking notch back under the yellow line. Not sure tho, as no directions were included. I had to look up on the listing to find out exactly how these work. For the price these seem like a good option for travel, as long as you don’t have to worry about kiddos!

Wanted a sharps container that I could keep 50 unit syringes in after use and these are a bit too small. I still managed to fit them in there after bending the needles (which should probably be done anyhow), and that's not hard to do with their size, but still. The container is otherwise solid plastic and thick, so not much of a change to break open unless you crack it at the lid seam, which I haven't tried, but I could see being done with a large mallet or rock.

The lid design of these little containers is perfect for reuse. I was initially concerned about introducing more single use plastic into my life, but these can be emptied into a larger sharps container and reused over and over again. They're perfect for travel.

This sharps container does everything it needs. It is an easy and compact place to drop needs from diabetic testing. When it gets full you can slide the lid all the way closed to "seal" it off. When sealed it is not impossible to get it open, but pretty difficult.

This travel sized sharps container is made of thick, quality, durable plastic. You can see from the photo that it is only a couple of inches long and really does fit in one hand. The strangest thing about this container is the sealing (red tab at the top). Once it is in the closed position, it cannot be opened again. (Thankfully, I filled it before testing that element.) That is great for when it is full and ready for disposal. However, until it is full, you have to leave the red tab in the open position and the sharps literally fall out. The only way to prevent them completely falling out was to close it halfway. So, not really ideal for travel or portability.Bottom line: As long as the container stays upright and slightly (but not fully closed) then it works great.

Overall not impressed with this as a solution for my wife's insulin needles. She has gestational diabetes and was looking for a safe way to dispose of her needles, but the entire syringe she uses is disposable and it does not fit in here, this is just for the needle portion. It also is hard to open, has no way to secure, and seems to have a risk of poking yourself while it is open. They are cheap so if you are looking for the cheapest option this works, but it's basically just a plastic bin with a slider top that doesn't really work.
