This weight and height tape is an excellent tool for maintaining my new horse. The weight tape helps me keep up with his weight and needs, while the height side helped me gauge how tall he is. Great value, folds easily to fit in my grooming bag and an overall helpful guide.

Durable and easy to read but very inaccurate. Says my (very) stocky QHorse is less than 1000lbs? I don’t think so… I asked my vet to double check with hers and we’re about 300lbs off. Good tool to measure weight gain or loss, but total weight should be better determined by a scale or a vet

It would help if it came with instructions. I had to look up how to use it on the internet. But otherwise it works great.

Thick tape that isn't easy to break. Simple to use. May not be as accurate for weight as the directions tell you to average together three measurements. Also, a stick would be the most accurate for height, but this tape gave me a good idea of my horse's height and weight. For the price, it was perfect.

We like to keep a close eye on the body conditions of our horses, and donkeys, and this tape makes it very easy. Plus it is easy to clean it's self when we're done.Miniature horses, and donkeys of all sizes have a tendency to become overweight (mini horses- though they have been bred down for generations now their brain still tells them to graze 16 hrs a day if they can, and donkeys come from areas that have great areas of very scarce grazing, so their bodies tend to hang onto every calorie. Obesity is not only a potentially serious condition that causes in equines foundering/crippling, but can also shorten their lives)So keeping a close eye on them, plus measuring developing foals is very important here at The Barnyard. 😊I will be ordering again when we lose this one. ...They just seem to disappear around here! Lol!

I bought this tape because am trying to manage my horses' weight this spring and summer as I have alot rich of pasture. Those of you that have horse weight problems know it can easily get away from you even if they live with you as mine do. The tape has height measurements on one side up to 20 hands and weights on the other up to 1398 pounds. I do not know if the weights are accurate but measuring regularly will definitely tell you if their weight is going up or down. This time of the year my main riding horse can get laminitis and way fat being on too much grass. I have vowed not to let that happen to her again. This tape is helping. Measuring her just once a week told me that even 6 hours a day on grass is too much. I used the tape to measure her girth at the smallest point the first day I got it. A week later I measured her at the same girth point and discovered she had gained over 30 pounds. YIKES! That's the wrong direction. So, short of having a horse sized scale, this tape works great. I am happy it have a simple, quick way to positively tell if her weight is maintaining, going up or going down.

Great tool for measuring weight! I have small ponies and it seems to be pretty accurate. So simple and easy to use! Would definitely recommend.
