Works great with a Wagner sprayer. However on large jobs, refilling the hand held tank so often is a problem. I was using it for a fence. The stain is great and covers well.

It took 4 different times to order the Ready Seal sealer. The problem was it was always damaged in shipping. Finally, after several attempts it was packaged correctly and arrived on time. I would think when shipping liquid it would be cushioned enough with peanuts or bubble wrap. In any event this is great stuff. I apply it several times a year on my pergola due to the hot sun in Hawaii. Makes the redwood look like new.

We have ignored the maintenance on our cedar playset for 5+ years and the set sit on the beating sun all day. This product made it look brand new again with only one coat.

Last fall we had our deck that came with the house expanded. We had Trek composite wood (Select Saddle color) put in for the floorboards and railings. We left a staircase that we had put in 5 years ago that was gray from weathering and just power washed and did some sanding of that part before staining. In the photos you can see how the stain took to different sections differently. It was not uniform all around but lighter in some, penetrated some better than others, and matches the composite better in some spots than others. When it took to an area well, I think it was a nice match for the Trek Saddle color. In other spots not so much. The staircase is many shades all in one. But this is what you get doing a DIY job and saving money from hiring a professional. Overall the deck matches itself better than it used to especially from a distance, and in my opinion the color of stain I picked is a good shade to go with the composite when it gets absorbed well.

First of all I loved the ease of putting this on the deck and the color it left. The clips on the can which I’m sure kept it safe for being shipped had to be cut off and once I figured that out, I was off to work. The only negative is that although I continually stirred this after I had shaken it well, when I was finished there was an oily residue in places. This made it very slick if either my family or my dogs stepped on it. I tried wiping a lot of that off with a cloth which was helpful . And as time has gone on there is less of a slippery feeling in those places. While I normally had to use 2 gallons of stain to do my deck, with this brand I only used 3/4 of a can.

Very happy with Ready Seal. Purchased it because of the ease of reapplying for annual or bi-annual maintenance. Applied to a 25 year old deck that was neglected for the past 7 years. Obviously we had a lot of preliminary work to do of stripping and brightening deck. Ready Seal went on great. The neglected deck sucked up a lot more stain than the spread rate. (Due to years of neglect, not the stains fault). (Almost twice the amount than the lowest spread rate). It came out great. Looked like a "new" deck. Slightly darker than what I expected,(probably due to the amount of stain applied) but it is lightening up nicely with time. It has been about two months(with a season of lots of rain, sun and extreme heat) and it is still beading up nicely. I am very glad I purchased. I will buy again and I am recommending to all my friends.

To start off: I wish I could have reviewed the Thompson's Waterseal which I didn't buy on Amazon because that stuff was junk and I'd slam it with a big ole 1 star. Unfortunately I bought a 5 gallon bucket of that sealer which was way too much. I brushed it on, which took forever and it didn't take much stain either so I had plenty left over. Used that bucket three consecutive summers in which each winter it peeled and flaked off. I even had enough left over to go a fourth time but I took it to the local waste disposal place. Each time I followed the instructions and painstakingly powerwashed the deck, spread the cleaner and then applied the Thompson's under the correct conditions. It said not to apply it in direct sunlight, but my deck sits in the southside of the house so it's in direct sunlight all day until after about 5pm. So each day I worked for a couple hours until it got dark. What. A. Pain!ReadySeal saved my sanity. Used it with a Graco Magnum Sprayer to spray it on in a couple of hours. I was worried that 5 gallons would be too much so I started with 2 gallons and will need to order another gallon or 2. The sprayer uses more product as some is lost as a sprayed mist that floats off through the air. Brochure said to make sure the deck boards were as dry as possible and since the old sealer hadn't worked at all I had to wait for a long dry spell before applying. One day I covered the deck in a large tarp to keep it dry from rain. When I powerwashed it I gave it a couple days to dry before going to work. It soaked up the ReadySeal very nicely. Using a sprayer was sooo much easier and so much better for my back. Used an extension on the sprayer to just walk along and spray the deck boards. One thing to note: this mist gets everywhere so cover your house a good 4-6 feet away from what you are spraying. It's oil based so I covered nearby plants, lawn furniture and anything else I didn't want an oily film covering. The stuff that hit the grass broke down within a few days and didn't harm the grass as all. It's been a week after application and the first rain a couple days ago beaded nicely. The brochure said that the initial color will be darker (which it was) and over 2 weeks will lighten into the color you want. A week later I can see it starting to lighten to the right shade already. My deck is a 2nd floor 12'x14' deck with railing along all sides and a flight of step going down to a landing. To coat all of that with a sprayer (no mixing with water or anything) takes 3-4 gallons. If I brushed it on 2 gallons would have been plenty. As of 10/26/16 this sealer is everything I had hope it would be so I give it 5 stars. If for some reason, after the winter or whatever, I find it flaking or no longer sealing I'll be back to change my review. But, for now, I am very very happy.
