The 1" RP-501 series of backflow preventers from ARI are comprised of two independent, spring-loaded check valves and a hydraulically operated differential pressure relief valve. The relief valve allows harmful contaminants to be released from the pipeline before interfering with your water supply. The 1 inch reduce pressure backflow preventer from ARI includes a Nylon shutoff valve at both ends of the device. The equipment also includes built-in test cocks. If you live in an area where metal theft is common this is the way to go. Or in my case you are looking to save you or a customer money on RPZ. The RPZ was high quality and meets all lead codes for potable water. Repair parts are available from the manufacturer and is easy to do as well.
