I always test items like this before installing. This one didn't work, it wasn't making a proper seal. I took the snap ring off and disassembled it to inspect inside. I found a whole bunch of chunks of cast metal inside preventing the o-ring from sealing. I cleaned it out and reassembled and it worked fine. BUT, if I had installed this unit I would have sent metal into my carb potentially plugging it or worse yet damaging a valve, piston or ring.I'm still not 100% certain of the quality of this PCV valve and may still replace it for peace of mind.
