LED Advent candles 4 piece taper candle set Look of real melting candle wax Reusable with replacement batteries Details Advent candles are a popular way to countdown the weeks until Christmas, the day our Savior was born to the world. Even though many families love the tradition of lighting a candle on their Advent wreath to mark each new week of the Advent season, the fact is that leaving real wax candles unattended can be a potential hazard---especially with young children in the home. These LED Advent candles are a great way to participate in this meaningful Christian tradition with your family this Advent season without having to concern yourself with the dangers associated with open flames. The bonus is that LED technology has advanced to the point where LED candles look like real flames from a distance, giving off the soft candlelight effect without an open candle flame. And because LED candles take regular batteries, these candles can be used again and again. A great alternative to real wax candles! Each candle requires 2 AAA batteries which are not included. Dimensions & Specifications Each taper candle measures 10.25" (H) 3 purple candles, 1 pink Works as a replacement to real candles with most Advent wreaths

I love these! I bought a set to use in my advent wreath at home. Then I bought a set for my Sunday School classroom. Now I've bought a set for my mother-in-law. Each year, I remove the batteries and store separately so they don't go bad. I also store them indoors because they are coated in real wax and may melt in a hot storage area. My kids were a little rough with them one year, and broke some of the wax off the bases. I was able to glue some of the wax pieces back on, and I'm ok with it. Overall, they are a wonderful, safe way to teach children about advent candles.

Though I haven’t used these yet-since they are for Advent-I took them out to look at them. I love that, even though they are not real wick candles, they do have real melted wax cascading down a bit. They are just what I was looking for in an LED candle; very nice!

I like how well the candles were put together, however, one did arive cracked. The candles are fragile, but woth the money they look very real. I bought these for my college dorm room as we are not allowed to have real fire

The candles are beautiful and work great. However, we had one arrive cracked. Wrote right away asking for that one to be replaced, now havedone so twice, and because we were using them during Advent, we did not wish to return them. We have not heard back from them and the pinkcandle has not been replaced. Would like to have a perfect set.

These arrived in good condition. I was very careful handling them after reading that some people felt they were fragile. The wax layer is not very thick, and I think if it was cold, it would be brittle. I would recommend letting the package warm up to room temperature before handling.I bought these to put on an Advent wreath at an Assisted Living facility. I really needed something with no flame - and without heat- so the LED is perfect. They get used every day and some of the residents have been curious and come up to turn them on and off themselves. They are holding still holding up well - no cracks or chips or any other marring of the surface. They are only lit during meals, so I am hoping the batteries will last through the Advent season. They are attractive and the wax makes them look like real candles. The flame is a little orange-y for my taste.

I was so anxious to get these candles to go with my new Advent holder,to my utter disappointment I can't use the candles at all.The plus is that they fit in the holder, put while putting the battery in the pink one the wax began cracking and fell off.I reported this to Amazon and was refunded 10% off my purchase (of course they said I could return the item ,but I wanted to set up my display)as soon as I got off the phone and started putting batteries in,the other candles ,they started cracking too!So I have candles that fit and work, but all the wax has cracked off.I am beyond frustrated, this is so unlike the Amazon.com,that I know. Oh well ,I will "chalk it up "to,everyone makes mistakes .However I will never buy from this manufacturer again!

The combo of metal, electricity and wax is imperfect. The bottom unscrews to install the 2 AAA batteries and to turn the candle on and off. But on some candles the wax sticks and makes it hard to turn the bottom of the candle. So your first instinct is to grasp the candle firmly to get purchase to twist the stuck bottom open. If you grip the candle too tight, the wax cracks and falls off. you can tape it back on, but it is not as nice looking. Real candles don't have cellophane tape holding them together. Next time, I would try warming the bottom of the candle rather than muscling through. Maybe warm it in you hand, try that. If no joy, then try a warm cloth. It seems like a flame would be a very last resort. The wax is only as thick as two quarters. The manufacturer should really make these to closer tolerances. It is possible that they do and that high temperatures in shipping make the wax melt and then harden in a way that makes the bottom hard to turn. If that is the case, there should be instructions about how best to deal with the issue. I do not recommend two sets of pliers, based on my experience. I guess the wax has to get soft enough to allow you to twist off the bottom with your fingers -- without any pliers

PROS: They are much like other LED tapers I've purchased. The "flame" tip is very fake looking, but the flicker effect makes it nicer. These have plastic battery housing covered in real wax, and except for the tips, you can't tell they are not real candles. The colors are perfect for Advent. They fit into taper holders well. And turning them on/off is super easy, they have a twist bottom "switch". Bonus: they have lovely Advent prayers printed on the box.CONS: I don't think of this as much of a con, because I was at fault. When I took them one out of the box I broke it in half. Luckily, the battery housing was not affected and I was able to glue the candle back together and it works fine. I would strongly suggest when opening the package to SLOWLY slide out the carboard holder the candles are sitting in, and when it and the candles are completely out of the box, THEN remove the candles from the holder. I pulled a single candle out of the holder, straight out of the box, not realizing it was firmly holding the candle. So it snapped in half. They are as fragile as wax candles, and I should have known better. So, I consider it user error. =DI would definitely recommend them.
