They're tiny plastic locks like you'd see one of those plastic-y drawstring backpacks. They're exactly as expected.

Jackets often have pull strings on the hoods, but they don't join across the front for obvious reasons. I wanted a cord lock that would live permanently on one side, and through which I could thread the other side when I wanted to snug up the hood.Exactly what I was looking for. A simple knot on the permanent side so the cord lock can't come off, and enough space to thread the other side without being able to see it.
