I used these to attach a shelf bracket to a steel tube. I needed to attach about six screws and these handled the job without much issue. For two of the holes, I exchanged for a new screw part way into the drilling process, since it seemed that the screws were not making much headway through the metal legs, but each time I did this the second screw cut nicely and quickly into the leg, and they all seemed to thread nicely into the steel of the tubes. Very happy, and glad I learned about these types of screws. FWIW, I didn't drill any pilot holes and just drilled straight with the screws. They probably wobbled around more and dulled faster as a result, but they still got the job done.

These are great and a great price! Used to hold 8x20ft shade cloth using fender washers at each eyelet. Self-tapped pole barn box beams without any issues.

These self tapping screws required a pilot hole to penetrate metal siding panels but they do hold securely.

I removed a star because the pieces were inconsistent. It was strange to me. I was attaching a hinge to a metal fence post, and some pieces drilled in smoothly and quickly like butter, and some would not penetrate at all.

I drove these screws into a metal, insulated, garage door. I did not drill pilot holes and the self drilling was fast. The screws held tightly without rounding the hex head or stripping the threads. Buying 100 screws was more than I needed but cheaper than buying by the piece or small bags from the hardware store.

Not as well made as the big box retailer fasteners... Doesn't have a screwdriver slot and the tip isn't as pointed...
