I bought these to be used in a soil lab as sample cups (for which they work perfectly). Unpacking was a little annoying, as each cup was individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve. I ordered a large quantity, so it was a bit of a task. Upon inspecting, there was black residue on most of the cups. I had to rinse and wipe each one, and the towel came away blackened each time. I'm assuming this is from machining the cups, so it should be fine, but it was still aggravating having to scrub each of them down to get it off. Also I noticed that when I placed them into my drying oven at 205 F, a chemical-ish smell permeated the air near and inside my oven. It seems to have gone away for the most part after the first run through drying samples, but still maybe concerning if you are using these for food, and not as soil sample cups.
