I ordered the black nickel and wasn't sure what to expect with the finish. Some of the pictures in the description look matte like they were painted, but the beads that arrived are the shiny black nickel finish that match my other black nickel beads, only at a much better value. I am used to paying about $7 for 20 so getting 100 beads for less than $20 is a great deal.If you haven't used tungsten beads before they are heavier than a traditional brass bead and really help your nymphs get down to where the fish are quickly. They are great for high-sticking/euro-nymphing, or for swinging in the current on deeper pools to get down where the fish are. The slot makes them MUCH easier to tie with a variety of hooks, but I am partial to using them on small barbless jig hooks with patterns like the prince nymph, rainbow warrior, or even a simple pheasant tail. But the uses for these are almost limitless.I will definitely be getting more of these when I run low. I hope they offer them in more color selections. The three options (black nickel, silver and copper) are what I use the most, but I would like to see a gold and a red option too!

I like to use tungsten because of the lead problems. These are dark colored which I like better than lead which can get shiny after drifting over gravel. This stays dark and preferable when trout are line shy. Great product.

Overall a very good product and a good value. Occasionally I find one that doesn't go over the bend properly so I discard it but still much more economical than other options.

I am trying to learn how to tie flies for fly fishing. I am by no means an expert, as I am fairly new, but these tungsten beads are fairly heavy and help make your fly drop faster than other beads. These are the 2.5mm size and make a perfect realistic head for wooly buggers or like a prince nymph. The color is a nice shiny copper color and attracts fish fast. They are durable and have held their color well. I have not had any tarnish and are still shiny.

These beads were exactly as advertised. They fit the look of my flies and added the right amount of weight. Would definitely recommend!

I ordered the copper color and used them to tie a few copper johns. Tungsten beads definitely work great to get that nymph to drop faster in the water. The slot in these beads made it very easy to tie with the hooks I own. The copper color has stayed true with use and the price point is awesome as 100 beads for less than twenty dollars is a deal. Overall 5/5 stars.

These slotted beads are great and easy to use. If you are looking to add extra weight to your line for easier casting these beads are amazing.
