I got this as I've started looking closer at coins since I found a quarter that turned out to be worth about $250 on the coin market. I don't go out of my way to get coins, but now I save my change and when it's bad outside or I'm bored, I'll grab my coin cup and start looking at coins. While I can see without it, the light on the magnifier makes it easier to look at coins. I don't need to hold a flashlight or my phone light anymore. Plus, this does let me zoom in as I can't do that with my eyes! Shipped and arrived quickly.

This little microscope it neat! Nice, large, screen for viewing, remote control for the monitor, and an included micro sd for photo and video storage of what you are looking at. The base and arm were easy to install, along with mounting the actual tube onto the base. My only real problem with this, is how difficult the focus can be, mostly because of the plastic gears that cause the movement to be stiff as you work on focus. Once you get it focused, this is an incredible tool for home use, as well as perfect for the curious kids, or even the kid in me, to use at school or anywhere else! You should put it on a solid table in order to get the best results. You get a lot of value for the money, but the little measurement guide included it the package is my favorite. It is a simple touch, but so very useful if you need to know true size for study or reports in school. The other neat feature is the light source. So many of the devices like this have terrible light sources that make photos, let alone looking at things under the scopes. This light source worked well no matter how high or low that source is to the subject matter. This is a great budget microscope for many uses, and fun to use with my daughter! We love it!

This is great for adults or kids, it is portable and wireless, you can detach from the base and walk around the house or outside and magnify objects, ants, dirt, anything you can put the microscope against it. The portion of the microscope which has the LCD screen, is very good quality , the LCD has a digital menu allowing for change the video/photo quality, set the time/date on the microscope. It also has a function to format the microSD card (comes with a 32GB microSD). It is all made with good quality material. The bottom part (the base and stand), not so great of a quality, as it is a very cheap plastic in my opinion, and the stand a bit flimsy. When I attach the LCD back on the stand, it leans a little forward, as it is too heavy for the stand to hold it, which makes the microscope camera tip little tilted, so when you put something to zoom in right on the crosshairs lines, the camera does not see it, so you have to move it around until you find itThe zoom on it is okay, could have used a better zoom, but works well. Overall the microscope is really easy to operate and functions well. Heaving the microSD card is also easy to use and allows you to take pictures as you go outside. The cool thing is that it is USB powered so you can plug that USB to your PC/MAC to take pictures/videos, snapshots with your computer. I have a Mac, and the instructions have a link to download the software, which I didn't use, I used the built in tools in the Mac as the Mac detected the camera without any issues. The picture of the drop of stain on the keyboard cover is at its max zoom. , The picture that you see the crosshairs , is dust zoomed in. Then picture of the lines, is 3 hair at the max zoom, so that is how much the zoom's functionality works. (I would have posted some pic, but for some reason every time I post pictures here for it, it kicks back the review)In additional to all of it it does have a small remote that plugs in to the LCD that allow you to extra digital zoom in up to 2x. The lcd screen also has a button on the size to control the light brightness on the microscopeFor the price, in my opinion this is a great value, for simple scientific projects

Let me start by saying that I've never used a digital microscope, and at the $42.49 listing price (at the time of my writing this review) I wasn't expecting much. Upon opening the box, the plastic stand felt rather flimsy. This didn't exactly do much to boost my expectations. I took a quick look at the directions, and turned the unit on. I was happy to find that the unit was fully charged. I was also happy to find that the unit worked. Not only did it work, but it worked great. I put a couple of coins on the stage and could practically make out George Washington's nose hair. I went into the menu and saw that the screen was on 720p resolution. I bumped it up to 1080p and it did look sharper. I'm assuming this means that it may actually be 1080p. All I can say is, once you dial in the focus, the image is sharp and clear. The weak point of this microscope is the stand. As I've previously mentioned, it's pretty flimsy. It does, however, get the job done. And once you dial in the focus with the knob located above the light, you don't have to mess around with it anymore. You can slide coins on and off of the stage and the focus stays put. There is rack and pinion height adjustment knob that isn't great. It works, but I don't plan on using this very often. The microscope comes with a wired remote that allows you to zoom in and out, snap pictures, take videos, and access the menu. It might have some other functions. I have to read the directions more thoroughly. You can also hook this directly up to your computer and look at the image at a much larger scale on your monitor. That's pretty awesome. If you shop around you might be able to find sturdier or cheaper digital microscopes. I haven't tried any of them. All I can say is that I'm really happy with this one. I think it's a great addition to my hobby related tools. I can see using this on coins, baseball cards, electronics projects, and a lot of other stuff. You can also use it without the stand and just carry it around and hold it in your hand. I can't really say I plan on using it that way, but who knows. A project might come up where using it this way may come in handy. So, to wrap this up, I'm very happy with this microscope. It's far exceeded my expectations. I'm giving it five stars.
