We live to a golf course. Every year, at least one window gets broken by golf balls. We have a pavilion and it has a 10 ft spacing between columns. This netting fits over that space and provides an area of protection to our windows facing the golf course. We verified that that the netting can stop speeding golf balls from coming through.

I use nets to keep my chickens in their uncovered runs. These nets are sturdy and have been working great to keep them inside and safe.
