I used three of these in a project and they all failed. It appears they are fine until you solder wires to them. (Yes, LIGHT #24 wires.) They might work great in a PC board application but they are meant to be panel mounted which nearly always requires wiring. After wiring, they simply fail. As a last resort I tried spraying one with a popular contact cleaner and it felt like every internal part simply melted. I've returned the pots and ordered higher quality ones. I wasted most of a day with the first ones and now I've lost an additional week waiting on the new, higher quality pots to arrive. Yes, very frustrating.

The label on the box even said 20 10K pots. In the box were 20 100K pots clearly labeled. 🤦‍♂️Updated review to 4 stars, second box was all 10K as required. 😬

Received 100k instead of 10k, and didn't notice it until it was too late to return. Need to order new parts now...

They are good for Test boxes. The knobs are very big. The parts came in a box with the knobs potentiometers washers just rattling around.

These are great to have on hand to fit into any builds you are working on. The ones I have used work great.

Summary: I make my own hardware/software, so I can use 18 of 20. If plugging them into existing device/software w/o modification, that would drop to 5 or maybe 12 usable, depending on how demanding the requirements for accuracy. No idea how long these will actually last. For me, this was a good buy for building a game device. YMMV.Details: Performed basic tests using meter, and Arduino w/ 10bit ADC: checked resistance within tolerance at both ends, and resistance hitting expected values near center and near both ends (not testing accuracy over full range, just 3 points), tested noise at 10%/50%/90%.Results: None were DOA. 12 of 20 were within minimum specs. All 20 registered 0V min (i.e. max resistance); 12 of 20 registered +/-5% max V; 4 were greater than +/-5% but less than +/-10%; 4 were greater than +/-10%, all high, max 114% V.19 of 20 registered 0V within 10 deg of minimum turn; 19/20 registered +/-5% at midpoint; 14 of 20 registered max V within 10 deg of maximum turn. The notable issue was that 6 of 20 registered max voltage (minimum resistance) at greater than 10 degrees from max turn, greatly reducing the usable radial range.Only one of 20 had noise issues, varying by more than 1 (in 1024) at any setting; all others did generate 1 point of noise at most/all settings, none were noise free.Boiling that all down: 5 of 20 passed all tests and seem very good; 7 more are usable w/ a modest degree of inaccuracy (probably acceptable for typical non-pro joystick &c); 6-7/20 are only usable within a restricted radial range and with hand-tuned software; 1 or 2 are borderline unusable (noise and inaccuracy over range). That's an hour or so effort (setup and about one minute x 20 and analyzing). I would still test more expensive, better pots, but I would only have to buy 8 to get at least 6, and save half an hour.

It came in a black box with nuts and washer for each knob.

The potentiometers are very well made and worked perfectly in the project I was building. The cost was the best thing about the items. Hard to believe they could cost so little for they're quality.
