Your cart is empty.The 10mm LED is one of the larger led sizes that we carry, but has a large array of uses. The uv / purple color is certainly spectacular!!

These clear purple leds are easily distinguishable from the clear blue leds.They are current hogs, easily pulling 5 or more milliamps at 3.3vdc.I'm using 8 leds connected to one port an an atmega324a.There is a limit of about 20mA on the port. In my first try with a lowvalue series resistor, the purple leds pulled over 8mA. By the time I gotthe currect down to a reasonable level, below 2mA, the purple ledswere pretty dim. Also, the purple leds don't turn until about 2.9 volts,which is much higher than any of the other clear 10mm leds take.All in all for my project where I'm using 8 different colored leds to showthe output of a port, the purple leds are just barely visible enough to beuseable. There is nothing wrong with these purple leds and I'm sure theywould make great rc car headlights, but for my project they were not avery good choice.
