This is a good quality thread repair kit at a reasonable price. Tool steel, well coated for storage (this finish will likely rust if you leave it stored wet). It has a good selection of common sizes. A testament to this is that it has the correct size for 3 different vehicles I work on. Each 3 different models, from three different manufacturers, 2 Asian, and one US. It only has 2 UNF (or SAE if you prefer) sizes though, so if you have an older American made, be sure to verify the size. Even the case is surprisingly decent. At the current price it should pay itself off the first time it gets used.

Used on a 2004 Pontiac GTO. Damaged the threads getting the axle stub out. The stub is no longer made, and cannot be found. The only option was fixing the threads. This took time working at it, slowly and steadily to fix the threads. This kit worked perfect, very happy!

Worked great to chase the threads on a few axles I had out of cars recently, just wish it included a thread checker to help identify what your of thread an axle was. Easily cleaned up the threads it was used on of all rust, sealers, and loctite, was easy to use and the holder's depth helped get past lug bolts with ease.

This is review of 10 pc Axle spindle threading set. I have made the mistake of hammering my axle's thread to remove them that made the thread damage. I forgot the golden rule that I should have placed the nut before hammering them as they maintain the axle's thread better. I tried using this but it was so messed up that the it was smushed and a thread repair kit is practically useless. I am not looking at having it fixed and I think I need more resources from getting it machined and rethreaded by an actual tap. Bear in mind that this does not seem to be a tap that makes thread but just fix some threads. Parts seems to be made of high quality but at this time, I do not have a way to test this.

This arrived without one of the black latches, so I can't really use the case for much other than leaving in a horizontal position. It wasn't in the box, so it's not like it came apart enroute, it's like it was never there. As far as the set itself goes, it's good. I am pleased that they included both metric and SAE. It says it's for axle threads, but really, you can use it for anything with the right threads whether it's on a car or a cart. So good tool, bad case and that's frustrating.

This is the perfect addition to the auto mechanic's inventory of tools! There have been many times that I have found buggered-up spindle threads on people's cars that I work on. having this thread chaser set on-hand to clean up the threads is just the ticket. The fact that this set has both English & metric chasers in one case is a big plus IMO.This set contains thread chasers, not thread dies. They will not cut their own threads, but they will straighten out threads that are already there.

I messed the treads up on my rear axle replacing my wheel hub assembly. Used this retreading die kit without removing or replacing my axle assembly. Worked great! Easy to use and better than buying a new axle.
