I like the somewhat smaller size of the sound post setter, and that it is pre-bent to a useful shape for setting a post, unlike other post setters which are straight out of the box and not useful without modification. However, the pointed end needed to be ground down to be able to insert it into a post and stay there for setting the post. This is true of the 3 other larger post setters I use, and is typical I believe. The post gauge didn't slide well and had to be worked a bit to make it usable.

they are advertised as 5mm .2" but that's not how they came. the post is too large in diameter to fit through the f hole...
