I got this to use when I go to watch meteor showers, and I'm so happy with it.It is light weight and fits nicely in the hand. I like the carry case and small tripod it comes with. I haven't used the smartphone adapter yet, but like everything else it is high quality. The monocular is simple to use and it's easy to attach the accessories. I am very impressed with how well it works, and will buy another so my daughter and I don't have to share. This monocular is a great value.

My wife leads hiking trips all round the World and wanted some sort of magnifier like binoculars or whatever to observe surprise sightings of birds and other wildlife but which did not take up too much space in her bag and add too much weight to her load. This monocular from POCNSEN covers both of those requirements. When you hold the monocular in your hand it gives an immediate impression of high quality. The main lens looks lovely with a green shimmer to it and the whole body of the thing has a nice slight soft rubbery feel to it. the surface has a soft mat sheen that looks very nice now and look as if it will resist fingerprints in the future. The know that operated the focusing has a wide range so it means that if a bird suddenly goes near to far it would take a few seconds to wind out the focus to the new position. The total shape is compact so that it could be thrown into a backpack without snagging on something else and without getting damaged. I think it will be ideal for backpacking.Having the accessories for taking smart phone pics is going to be fun. The kit comes with a tiny tripod and a phone clip. There is a tough fabric carry case made of that tough rip stop nylon material and with Velcro closing. It is a bit tight when you still have the lanyard adapter mounted but it slides in quickly when the adapter is unscrewed. We will need to be careful not to lose the small part. The smart phone holder is fiddly to get in the right position but it can be done with some patience. I got some sharp photos.Very nice magnifier!

Couldn't wait to try out the new monocular. Worked great inside looking out. The instant that I walked outside the lenses fogged up and were unusable. Other than that, I think it is an outstanding bargain at $10 and was clear and fully functional until the lens fogged.Buyers beware. The mention of "Night Vision" in the ad description is a marketing gimmick (i.e. a complete lie) so don't be fooled into thinking it has night vision capability.

This seems to work well, I had a harder time because I wear glasses, but it does focus and work well even with glasses on. There is a focus knob that you turn until the object becomes clear, and this worked well. For some reason I expected like a full sized tripod, even though it is clear in the picture that this is just a small table-top device--I'm trying to imagine how you would use this if you were out somewhere in the outdoors trying to take a picture. You would have to have something to place the tripod on. It certainly does seem to work for this purpose, there is a plastic piece that you attach your phone to then attach it to the monocular, which screws onto the tripod. I think it would be easier to just hold your phone. I have not tried this so not sure exactly how it is going to work. But as a little telescope this seems worth the price. It would be excellent for bird watching or other wild life. Good quality, it comes in a nice sturdy box and has a fabric carrying case that is not well padded but serviceable. The wrist strap pictured on the product page is not the one you get--this is flimsy, I'm not sure how to attach it and unlikely to use it. There is a hole in the silver cap that you removed to attach it to the tripod, I guess the wrist strap somehow goes through there, but the string that holds it does not seem sturdy enough. I think that I will get some kind of sturdier cord long enough to go around my neck and use that, it would be nicer if something like this were provided. I also wish that the two lens covers attached to the monocular--the front one does attach but it kind of gets in the way--you can remove it entirely but then I had a time getting it reattached. The one for the eyepiece just comes off, so there is an issue of losing these things, you would have to be careful not to lose them. I find this well worth the price despite the minor issues listed here. This is a sturdy well made monocular.

I ordered this Monocular Telescope for the cellphone attachment feature. From the crisp, clear picture of the jay bird in the listing I knew this is what I wanted for my trips to my local nature reserve. This was the first of two of these monoculars I've ordered on Amazon. This monocular comes with a very cheap, very short tripod that is hard to use when your cellphone is also attached. This is so short I really don't understand the point of it. If you want to hold the legs of the tripod together to use as a handle, just don't. This will just cause instability and shakiness in your view. The clip to hold the phone is pretty decent. Aligning the eyepiece/ camera of my phone to the monocular was fairly easy. The problem is that you do not get a crisp clear picture. You get a tiny circle of a picture. Once you get this perfectly focused it is hard to push the photo button and hole this whole thing still. As for a monocular on its own, this is the better of the two I ordered. Still this is not giving me the close up view I had hoped for. A big obstacle to this is the tripod. Why this tripod?! I could use this on another tripod, but that is an entirely different item I now have to purchase. What a hassle. This monocular is made of sturdy material. The dial to focus the lens is steady and easy to use. This is advertised as a way to take clear close up photos and this just does not deliver. For seeing things close up I'd rather turn to a good pair of binoculars.
