Description
This 12-strand premium polyester line has low stretch and high strength. The torque free construction will not twist or kink when a load is applied. An average tensile strength of 8,000 pounds. It is a good strong rope for general use. My use was specifically related to tree trimming and removal. Worked great, took the abuse, very strong by comparison to many in same price range.

I was looking for a high quality, all-weather rope for a tree swing project and the 1/2 Inch by 100 Feet 12 Strand Polyester Blue Ox Arborist Climbing Rope fit the bill nicely. It's soft in the hand and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The rope knots easily and holds well while knotted. Although advertised as 1/2" it ran closer to 5/8" in my experience. I test fitted the rope to a 1/2" hole drilled with a Forstner bit and it did not produce the result I was looking for. Using a 5/8" Forstner bit, the rope passed smoothly through the holes without binding or snagging.I hung this around the first of October 2020 and cannot yet comment on the outdoor longevity or stretch but do not expect any negative surprises. *ADDED 05/05/21 Seven months later the rope is performing perfectly. It stood up to inclement weather with no discernible wear.TIP: If you intend to cut the rope as I did for my tree swing project, please note that the rope untwists freely once cut. I recommend that you wrap the cut point with tape then cut through the middle of the tape to minimize fraying and maximize ease of use for a project like this. Once cut sear the ends as you normally would with any poly rope end. Recommend it for tree swing projects.

Good starter rope. Smooth and pliant. Works great with traditional climbing method such as Blake's hitch and carabiner. Grip well and slide really nice. Probably a tad wide if you're to use mechanical devices on it. It's still a stout and reliable rope. I like it.

Well it is a little fat but so am I. 330lb out of the shower, running drt on saver and a zigzag. Little tight feeding into the petzel but not too bad. Line is nice in the hands and low stretch. Also run it through a notch micro pulley and hand ascender to pull my large sexy self up when I get tired. Seems great... not much more to say. Havent tried it without friction saver so dont know how bad it will pick

Ok, so it’s actually 13 mm.... with that being said I save $100 every time I order this. Great price on a rugged 12 strand. I own a tree service and climb DRT. I have trained 2 climbers on this. No milking and holds any friction hitch you can throw at it.

Good rope. I use it for a high line up in the mountains, I have three horses tied to The High Line to restrain them from leaving in the night. I did have to retighten it more than once, stretched more then I expected.

Rope is strong and has worked out well for the purpose I purchased it for. I used the rope when cutting down a silver maple which grew into three separate trees at the base all leaning in directions that would cause major property damage should the tree be damaged in a storm. The rope was used to pull each section of the tree into a clear area as they were being removed thus preventing property damage. The photo shows the treewith the first section removed. I would buy this product again if I needed more rope.
