So far these are excellent trail bits for long reach applications. They cut well and run straight and true. I'm very pleased with them.

I like the machine and quality finish of this bit set. They started nicely and drilled smoothly and easily. The oxide finish showed little wear after several uses. I was impressed with the tracking and no “wandering off” when starting. I’ll get a lot of use from these bits.

The split point makes a world of difference IMHO. ( no walking ) And having the 12 inch length makes these oxide coatedbits a very welcome addition to my toolbox.Nicely sharp and thus far making for clean and precise drilling in a variety of materials, albeit mostly wood.Priced right too.

Yikes, these are long. I am quite impressed by these for a few reasons. Most importantly, is that they are very straight. I find that to be awesome, given their length. The business ends are very sharp and well honed. Lastly, they arrived in a protective tube and were coated in manufacturing oil to keep them from oxidizing. These 12 inch "aircraft" style bits work great. The split point does indeed help to prevent walking, which really helps when starting a hole 10 inches in. The bits are 12 inches long, with a usable cutting surface of about 4.25 inches. Drilling a few holes into 10mm aluminum wasn't much of a challenge for the bit. It required minimum effort on the press and cut small chips. Chips were cleared fine, too. Other than removing some of the black oxide at the tip, the bit is undamaged.
