I opted for the 38mm (measured 39mm or 1 9/16") buckle in the Black01 variant and it's pretty okay. The finish on the hardware is decent, although there are some bubbles and flaws in the plating. The brushing texture seems fake like it's painted on and I don't like how it looks, but from a distance it's not noticeable. I'll most likely take it to my shop and sand it down to give it a real brushed look. There is a sharp corner on the back of the buckle that would scratch the leather, so I sanded it down. Overall, it's an okay buckle as a replacement, but I wouldn't choose this particular variant for the belts I make. I would instead try out Black02 for a 1.5" belt, or Black12/Black13 for a 1.25" belt.

After even a few projects I end up with a bag of mismatching hardware. I really like that this kit comes with a set of exactly the matching hardware you need for a belt project. Yes, you could use it for replacing a damaged buckle, but I much prefer to use it for building a new one with matching hardware. The hardware is nicely polished in all the places you're likely to see it, though some casting defects are present on the unseen portions, which is no problem. The finish is matte, and sized appropriately. The only shortcoming is the leather tab, which appears to be some sort of layered/engineered/glued leather product, which doesn't look like it will last very long, and the edges are only very lightly finished. If you're only using this for the hardware like I am, you will be very happy. The inclusion of a leather punch is nice as well, but it doesn't look very sharp. 5/5

This is a perfect belt buckle replacement or for making a belt from scratch. It is built solidly and does not feel like it will break any time soon.

This is a great replacement belt buckle. It has a heavy weight to it and feels very solid and sturdy. It was easy to attach to the existing strap. They include a tool for punching the holes in the leather. The finish is good and I anticipate long-term use from it.

When I got this Mufeban 1.2"-1.5"(31-38mm) Replacement Belt Buckle, it included a punch tool to punch a hole in my belt. Unfortunately the tool was bent at the tip so it would not punch the hole. Reached out and they are sending out a replacement immediately. I appreciate the quick response and resolution of the issue.The belt buckle is good quality and the finish looks great.
