Perfect thickness. The adhesive is very strong so they stay in place and don’t move around from walking. These have helped me A LOT for the pain I get on the bottom of my feet. Highly recommend.

These are too thick and way too hard. Don't bother with them. They made my feet hurt more. The photo isn't accurate either. They are extremely hard, dense, thick felt with no give.

I was unsure whether to buy the skived or non-skived metatarsal pads, but I went with these and have found them to be very comfortable. I don't actually stick them to my feet, but rather stick them to my custom orthotics. They will last longer this way since they won't be exposed to water on a daily basis like they would if I stuck them to my feet and tried to shower with them, as I've read some people do. It should be noted that I was already wearing orthotics with metatarsal support, so I was already used to having a "hump" in my shoe. With recent plantar plate problems, my podiatrist had mentioned having my orthotics redone and make that hump taller. Having spent $500 the first time, I was not keen to do that again, so I found these pads to make the hump taller.

I self-diagnosed my metatarsalgia and self-prescribed these pads after reading reviews. I know from the podiatrist that I ultimately saw that I used the pads correctly, and that they help some people. They just didn’t help me. Still, I liked that they were wool rather than synthetic and I found the adhesion better than I expected—they’d stay in place for several hours (but not an 8-hour day). I’ve done better with pads that cushion the metatarsals rather than take pressure off from behind and below them. And recovery slippers at all times around the house.

I have pain in the ball of my foot behind the big toe. I weigh too much and I'm trying to go back to running. The thing that is great about this is that it shaped like a tear drop. You can position it where you want. You are not stuck with where someone else thinks your pain ought to be. LOL. I stick the point of the tear as close to between my big and the next toe as possible, and let the round part cover what I believe is the metatarsal area. The adhesive is great. It will stay stuck for a couple days or until you get it wet- whichever comes first. It was the difference between my being able to continue to run on it or not. I feel the cush immediately. For the price it would be insane not to buy it of you are having metatarsal pain. I was turned on to this product by an Amazon reviewer for another metatarsal pain/cushion product that suggested that we not by that product, but buy 3M instead. I did not think that was going to be enough of a description to find what they were talking about-but turns out it was easy. I sound like a cheerleader. Not being in pain will do that to a person. Good product.
