I added power to test, and the kapton tape melted off the element. Assuming a dud, I tried again with another, and same result. Assuming coincidence, I tried again, same melting. Going for broke, I melted yet another. I decided I wasn't going to use these. Melty melty burn burn. The super thin connection leads didn't melt, so I guess there is something positive about these.

I used these to make the step on my running board heated…would be to hot to wire them all in parrallelWire every 2 heaters in a series and then parraleled them and it works very well to keep snow and ice melted off of your steps

They don't last very long if left on for extended period of time (1hr+). Other than that they work.

These little polyamide coated heater strips are so useful. I have a lot of little hobbies where I need temperature control and these work great paired with a thermistor. They were very close to 12 ohms on all of them I tested, so will live up to the 12watts of power (12v, 1a)

The heating plates/strips work exceptionally well. I used a normal 12V barrel plug power supply with an adapter. In about 15 seconds the strip was over 200F. After 25 seconds it was beyond 300F. The strips heat up very quickly. Be careful or you will get burned. If you combine a couple of strips, you can heat up a pretty large area. The quality is good as well. I purposely pushed the strips beyond their rating and they still functioned. If there is anything of reasonable size that you need to keep warm or heat up, these will do the trick. They are a great bargain for the price.

It's hard to leave a review of these more in detail than they are as they say. They are simple resistance heaters meant to able to be ran off of 12v batteries/supplies. The full 12w will be actually closer to the 13.4v that vehicle batteries are meant to run at from what I see in my testing. This isn't unexpected as it seems like that sorta use case (12v batteries) is probably an expected target with these. Anyways though they work well. Wire insulation seems like it is silicone which is nice. If you run these at 12v or especially more they'll need to be ran stuck to a thermally conductive material like glass or metal to keep themselves cool enough to not start melting. As long as they are stuck to something that can draw off some of the extra heat they should theoretically work indefinitely.
