The picture illustrates what happened with brief immersion, not even submersion. After installing the bulb and setting it to the desired mode, I put the light in my pond. I was intending for it to be on the bottom of the pond, but it floated (which makes sense, actually, since it is a hollow plastic vessel). So, I took it back out and put it on the edge, intending to weight it down the next day. When I inspected it this morning, this is what I found (picture). So, it partially flooded with less than one minute of immersion. Imagine what would happen if you actually forced it under water. So, don't buy this for your pond, unless you are using it as a simple outdoor landscape light outside the water.

I ordered three of these and they all arrived missing the mounting bracket. My only option is to return them as they will float in the water without this bracket. I see another user mentioned the bulb becoming loose during shipping. Mine arrived with the bulb uninstalled and in a box for secure shipping.

This unit arrived non-functional out-of-the-box. The MR16 bulb is only held in place by its two pins (instead of a support bracket), and it appears to have worked itself loose during shipping. You can see in the first picture the bulb is loose.I opened up the unit to reinstall the MR16 bulb. Yay, a working fixture! It gave me the opportunity to inspect the waterproofing. the glass lens was sealed with what appears to be silicon caulk. (see pic #2) Maybe it was waterproof out of the factory (or, maybe not!), but it seems unlikely to remain waterproof after I opened it. That's unfortunate. Highest quality waterproof well lights/underwater lights use a compression sealed rubber gasket, and it'll reseal even after you replace the bulb.Otherwise, build quality is decent. The unit has some heft to it. They provided plenty of wire lead so that if you do use this in a pond, hopefully your splice doesn't need to be underwater. The cable entry appears to be watertight. The remote worked well for me above ground, but I didn't try under-water. The manufacturer noted that you may need to put the remote in a waterproof sandwich bag and hold the remote underwater near the light fixture.Overall, a reasonable value for the cost, but I'd prefer a better waterproof mechanism for the glass front and a better way to clip the bulb into the fixture)

We have a water lily pond in our backyard and wanted it to be lit at night. It connects easily to a low voltage circuit. To keep it in place without mounting, we ran a piece a flat plastic through the bracket and placed stones around it. The stones keep it secure next to the small waterfall without any shake. It's got 15 colors plus white, and the the brightness is adjustable. The remote is great because you simply press a color-coded button to get the matching color of light. All buttons are clearly labeled. The light itself has a plastic housing and has sufficient quality for what we wanted. The kit came with everything we needed, but others should know that mounting hardware is not included (light housing, bulb, wire, plastic ground stake, and a remote). In all, it's a nice light that works well.

These lights have great output and light up my pond nicely under water. I have to rebuy them every spring because they don’t last through the cold months of winter. But for the price they’re cheap enough for me to make that decision.
