The optics and build are all I could expect. Bought a couple before this and is by far the best. Tripod and phone holder are sturdy.

This monocular is a fantastic addition to my hiking gear, easily fitting into my backpack. It provides powerful viewing and clear images, making it perfect for spotting distant wildlife or scenery. The clarity and magnification are impressive, allowing me to see details I would have otherwise missed. It's also been great for bird watching at home, offering a crisp and detailed view of the birds in my yard. The ease of sharing what I see with others is a nice touch too. If you're into outdoor activities or just enjoy observing nature, this monocular is a solid choice that won’t disappoint.

This monocular is okay if you need something to see better in the distance with, but it is not better than my 12x42 binoculars even though they are technically listed as being 12x55. The vision is fuzzier looking too. I really hoped to be able to use this item instead of my binoculars to save space but unfortunately they don't work as well. They are decent enough quality overall but I question how far the lens optics can actually see. The carrying case is nice but the tripod set up is bulky and I don't use it. This monocular works okay in a pinch or in situations I don't want to bring my bulky binoculars to, but it's not amazing.

This monocular seems ruggedly built, and the very slightly textured rubber exterior provides a somewhat secure grip. The focus adjustment knob is a good compromise between macro and micro and it holds its focus when you let go. The optics produce a nice sharp image, but the edges are slightly softer which is common with nearly every monocular I’ve tested. The soft shell case is well-made. The mini tripod is of very low quality and it does not hold the monocular if you’re touching it even with slight pressure, and not if there’s any amount of vibration. The ability to take photos/videos through the eyepiece is nice.One of the gripes I have is with the phone adaptor. The adaptor is one of my favorite features, but it is not designed to work well with my iPhone 14 Pro. The lenses stick out on that phone (see photo), but the adaptor is only designed to work with flush-mounted lenses. When you use it with a phone like mine the eyepiece cup is slanted which forces the camera to look through the monocular at an angle which prevents it from acquiring a nice sharp rounded image. The 14” bolt that holds the adaptor together is barely long enough to insert a thick washer/spacer between the pieces to allow the camera to line up correctly with the lenses, so that’s a potential fix. the adaptor is also very fidgety to set up and it does not hold its position well at all.The other issue worth noting is you cannot look through the eyepiece while wearing glasses. The eyepiece can be screwed inward/outward for glasses/no-glasses, but there’s no way for your eye to get close enough to the eyepiece lens to have a reasonably wide field of view unless you remove your glasses. The objective is just not large/wide enough to allow that.With all that said, the monocular itself is a decent product at the current price of $40. If you use it handheld or with a quality tripod it works very well.

I took this on my recent trip to Scotland. Easy to put in carry on bag and did a decent job of viewing distance wildlife and mountains. Fits well on backpack.
