OEM charge pipe on BMW is one of the least reliable parts. It is made of plastic and it is guaranteed to crack after a couple of years. This part appears to be a better replacement. It is made differently from OEM -- the throttle body connector is hard and strong, but the pipe itself is slightly flexible. It does not appear thin though. The OEM part is hard plastic.Ideally, you want to replace your cracked charge pipe with an aluminium aftermarket part, but that might get you in trouble during smog checks in some US states. This part looks identical to OEM and will not trigger any questions from smog station operators. The charge pipe comes with a premounted MAP sensor. That OEM sensor alone is twice as expensive as this entire product. Definitely great value.
