Excellent starter kit with all the basics you need. The backpack itself is great and has plenty of room for additional supplies/clothes. Comes with food/water and some unique tools. Lightweight if you need to leave in a hurry as well. Definitely going to add to it but happy to have the essentials covered.

For starters, I'm going to focus on what I do like about this kit. The bag is nice and has lots of storage available, the kit is well organized with labeled packets, and the calorie bar and water blisters appear to be of decent quality and should keep for a couple of years. The playing cards/emergency instructions are an unexpected and great touch too. I'm also glad that water purification tablets are included ... but the filtering straw arrived broken and there was nothing in the pack designed to hold water to be purified. The rest of the kit seemed to be thrown together using as cheap of components as available. It has a mylar survival blanket, body warmer, and a poncho, which is as expected. The first aid kit borders on being comical. The Ferro rod fell apart when opening the packet and flew across the room, but it does work. The emergency radio and flashlight use two different types of batteries (AA and AAA) and no batteries are supplied (but they do work as expected once you put batteries into them). The whistle/match holder is of cheap quality and does not contain matches of any sort, yet alone stormproof matches. The few moist toilettes and the pocket pack of tissues are woefully inadequate for a person to get through normal days, let alone 3 days in a crisis, and would not suffice to keep clean and sanitized. The only cordage provided is from the strap from the whistle/match holder. Had we not opened and inspected this kit very carefully, we might have set it aside and felt confident that it contained everything that we need. The cost would suggest that as well. But it is woefully inadequate as is and should not be depended on in its current state. Its saving grace is that it forms a handy base to build upon. So here is what I feel you will need to add to the kit to better suit your needs in an emergency: At least a 4 pack each of fresh AA and AAA batteries (and be prepared to replace them annually), a small box of storm/waterproof matches, some decent filtering straws, a couple of yards of paracord, 2 rolls of TP (one can be used to help start fires if needed), a couple of large trash bags (useful for many things, including keeping you warm and dry), a water bladder or similar collapsible water container, a bottle of rubbing alcohol, an upgraded first aid kit (that includes things like gauze and tape, particularly since broken glass is a huge thing after a major earthquake), a 3 day supply of your essential medications (replace them annually), a multi-tool or at least a sharp folding knife, and gloves. In mine I'd also add some duct tape (in case something rips, I need to throw a shelter together, or in case I have inadequate shoes when the earthquake hits), an upgraded crank-style or solar backup emergency radio (preferably one that can be used as a charging station as well for the cell phone), a hand towel, and, it may sound weird, but a small supply of individually wrapped OB-style tampons because they can be great for puncture wounds and nosebleeds for anyone as well as their intended use. I believe the pack is large enough to accommodate these extras, and it would make it a much better option for me. Let's hope that none of us ever has to use one!

So this Earthquake Survival Kit…It’s got your basics inside of a roomy, durable backpack. It’s definitely good to have this on hand. We live in the Northern California mountains where earthquakes aren’t so much the worry as fires are. We’ve been evacuated twice in the past year and this is good to keep with your GoBags. It has water packets & small food bars that will get 2 people through 2 days maybe using sparingly. It’s got a whistle, compass, flashlight, first aid kit, warmers & shelter blankets, water purification tablets, fire starter, emergency radio, etc. The flashlight and radio require batteries that are not included so it’s a good idea to add some AA & AAA’a to your pack. The backpack itself is great. It’s roomy, has pockets on the front, padded straps on back, and is well-made. The Quake Kit sign is velcroed on in case you want to take it off for something else.If there is more than one or two of you, you’re going to want to add more water and food packs/MRE’s. I would suggest adding more survival items to this pack. You never know what kind of situation you might end up in and when you do, you’re going to be glad you have a fully prepared and stocked pack.I recommend getting this pack. Will you have to use it? Probably not. But you don’t want to be in a situation telling yourself “why didn’t I get a survival kit”.

Awesome product. The backpack is very well built with high quality materials. There’s a ton of extra room to make it your own and add in gear as you see fit. Perfect for putting in your car in case of a short emergency.

The quality of the bag is excellent as well as the products! I love how they organized it by type (light/tools & first aid/shelter/hygiene).It provides needed essentials and includes playing cards. I think the price is great for what you get. I recommend!

I purchased this kit for a couple of uses. Living on the gulf coast in hurricane alley, this is a great kit to have available during the flooding and power outages after hurricanes and tropical events. I also do a lot of traveling to do off-roading in my 4-wheel drive and will carry this pack in my truck in the event of break-downs far away from "civilization" where there may be limited cell service.I love that the contents are all contained in a handy backpack rather than just a box or small zip duffle bag. It is light-weight for the amount of supplies it contains and the products inside are of good quality and include all the essentials I was looking for. I'll be buying additional kits for my son's families so they are also prepared for the upcoming hurricane season!
