I got this for welding stock. The material is dimensionally accurate and the product is fine. It is zinc coated steel which you must remove in order to weld it - unless you have proper PPE & ventilation. You can remove the zinc with a dilute acid soaking (acetic acid or HCl). The product is a bit pricier than if you bought it from a box store, and much pricier than buying from a metals store... But when you factor in it is being delivered to your door, it is actually a pretty good deal. I would recommend this product to others if it is something they need.

In terms of the product its exactly as specified and is indeed good quality however you will be paying a premium for it vs. buying it at the big box hardware store, its not massive like some other metal bar stock I have seen here on amazon but you're paying close to 2x more than if you drove to the store and picked it up. For a small project where you only need a few cuts its probably worth it to save from having to drive but if you going to be getting a bunch of these you will save a lot of money buying it locally.

I ordered 1/4 inch square bar and when it arrived it looked smaller, so I measured it with a vernier gauge and it was 6mm square bar. Result = not suitable for my application!!!!
