This AC port plug allows a simple solution for running an extension cord from an outside portable generator into the house without having to use a cracked (open) door or window. A simple and inexpensive alternative to wiring up a breaker panel. I can run our refrigerator and charge deep cycle batteries for using smaller power draw necessities (lights, radio, and small TV) during a power outage.

We have had more than usual power outages the past few years. Given the northern climate I have a Honda portable generator at hand. The connector was designed for ship to shore but I used it as the exterior connection to the generator from the back porch and an outlet on the interior so we can have some power during the next outage. Used a moderate duty extension cord to go from generator to the fixture, keeping the generator and exhaust outside. Fairly easy to install although you have to take it apart to connect standard house wire (I used 12 gauge). Note this is for one outlet and NOT connected to the house system, it is a stand alone. But we should be able to charge the phones, run some lights and keep the refrigerator going if needed via the easy connection this product allows.

Used the cord and plug for my boat to charge my trolling motor batteries and it works great. It's a nice clean look once installed. Easy install.
