This is a great GFCI plug for any room or space because of the built in USB A and USB C ports. Installation was as easy as any other outlet with the usual ground/hot/line connections. The construction feels solid not flimsy and there are built in tamper resistant covers for safety that slide away when using the outlet. The main functionality that makes this GFCI outlet special are the built in USB ports, especially the USB C port because that future proofs your charging ability since everything nowadays are equipped with a USB C.So the value is earned when you consider the cost and appearance savings in not needing a charging brick to occupy the outlets, so in many respects its like having 4 outlets instead of just 2.Overall if you are looking for a GFCI outlet and frequently use USB charging device like I do, then consider this outlet to help clean up your space and provide built in USB C charging.

Does it work, technically… but any USB-C device that requires a slightly more power, ie HomePod mini in my case (20 watt) or say a laptop (65watt) won’t charge…. Kinda defeats the purpose of why I bought it. I can find outlets that can handle up to 65 watts via USB C but not GFCI so you can’t use them in the kitchen or bathroom near a sink… I basically wasted my money, but doesn’t mean it won’t work for you… check your device requirements

Installed in bedroom with no issues. Test button button trips the breaker box though, so not sure what thats about. Then again I'm not an electrician. USB power is very slow.

We are remodeling our kitchen, and bought a bunch of different outlets to try out before purchasing the ones we were going to use to replace non-GFCI outlets. This one was one of two winners.I have a USB power meter on-hand, and checked out the output. The USB-C outlet by itself does indeed provide 30 watts, and similarly the USB-A outlet by itself I was getting 24 watts (it's rated at 27 watts, but that's a weird multiple of 5 volts). When both are being used, each provides 15 watts. This is the case even if the USB-A outlet, for example, is connected to an older device that that only takes 5 watts -- you won't get, say, 18 or 20 watts on the USB-C outlet. The outlet is expectedly bulky, but not overly so. It uses screw terminals, which is VERY nice -- the other alternative is pigtails, which I don't like because it necessitates wiring nuts that take up space, too.I'm satisfied. I didn't go with an outlet with all USB-C, as I've found there are some devices that don't like being charged via modern power delivery USB-C power delivery (PD). This is a good compromise. For the kitchen, it's not like you're going to be charging your laptop anyway -- it's more for your phone, battery-powered speakers, etc.(In case you're wondering, the other outlet I settled on was also from ELGRP, model ERU2230AC1A-WH, also available from Amazon, and did have two USB-C ports, at a maximum of 65 watts when just one is being used... I'm installing both, so am getting the best of both worlds.)

Works as it should, and easy to install. Had no issues at all. And a job that almost anyone can do themselves.
