So its common for the cheaper ac switch sensor to require splicing instead of the OEM that you can just unplug and plug in a new one. This sensor requires you to cut the old male and splice the one that comes with this kit. I've had this tahoe since 04 and have never cut the ac switch and have always spent the extra few bucks. That being said, this part always goes bad after a couple of years. So, i went ahead and installed this and it works. It's not as robust and cheaper and lighter feeling than the OEM but for a 20 year old vehicle, at this point, I just need things to work as they should. This switch does the job and my ac is blowing cold without switching to hot air. While it did require splicing, its more affordable than OEM which was $40. There are cheaper options and more expensive compared to this sensor so up to you for value. With all the manufactures out there making this thing, Im just glad I found one that works....until next year!
