Hello There, know that is doesn't come with the small rectangular board that you need to unscrew from your original screen. I almost sent this back because I did know that that piece was unscrewable ( first time replacing a touchscreen). You just need to reused that board by screwing it into the hole provided in the replacement screen. There was only a couple of YT videos on replacing a touchscreen for Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series (5578) 40 pin, and neither in English. However, it really is quite a straight forward task I haven't tested the web cam yet, but the touchscreen worked flawlessly and the screen is bright and vibrant. Saved me 100s and 100s of dollars buying from this seller. Highly recommend for the quality:price. You won't be disappointed. The old LCD had leaked so I used alcohol and a cue tip to remove the sticky sticky residue on the pins and surrounding areas. Make sure you note how the pinned connectors remove, they are a little tricky to reseat. Basically they both slide in and then carefully push down. I taped the connectors and cameras down once in position for good measure. So make sure you have a small screwdriver, tape, a lint free cloth, cue tips and some alcohol on hand when you start. If this 60 yo woman can make this work on the first go, Im sure most others can too. Listing states unbranded, but mine wasn't. I was over the moon to see I was sent a branded match for my laptop. Again, thank you seller, my old laptop is like new again! One last thing, on the Dell 5578, removing the screen is easy as it is not glued down. I used plastic levering sticks from a recent cell phone repair, but a CC would work. Simply slide under between the laptop frame and bezel and work your way around the bezel gently, taking your time. You'll hear the satisfying popping clicks as you move your way around the screen. I was so relieved and happy to see this was a clip in screen and I didn't have to mess with glue or a heat gun to get the screen out. So happy and glad I went with this seller.

Interesting back story before I get to the review of the replacement screen. My Dell laptop (5578) 15 Inspiron started having bubble on the screen. After a few months the screen appeared to have cumulus nimbus clouds moving in and other area's of the screen turning a dark color. I ordered this 40pin replacement screen, it came in VERY well packaged and began the process of replacing it. When I took the old LCD off, there was a sticky substance where the LCD had leaked into the laptop lid. I first tried 70 isopropyl alcohol to clean it up but that didn't do anything. Next I used 91% isopropyl and with que tips was able to clean the inside of the laptop screen. I was amazed at how sticky the LCD resin resembles pancake syrup. Once cleaned, I connected the 40 pin connector and gently snapped the new screen into place. The new screen is flawless and the only difference between this and the original is that it doesn't say DELL at the bottom. It's a perfect fit replacement!! For those of you wondering why the screen leaked in the first place, it was likely due to either extreme heat or cold temperatures. In my case probably the cold since I had left it in my shop outside in the winter time.

I was nervous about the screen replacement on my laptop as I have never done one before. I watched a video online first then went for it. It was pretty easy other than getting the pin connection unhooked, but it was not too bad. The new screen went back in pretty easy and worked perfect as soon as I turned my laptop back on back on.

Bought two installed on two identical systems. The first install worked without a problem however the second install did not fully work as it would not recognize the touch on first boot. Subsequent boot it fully failed.Update: Company stood by the product and issued a full replacement to my satisfaction immediately.

It would be very helpful to have more detailed instructions such as removing connectors on the mainboard.

This product was simple to fit and it does everything that it says on the tin. There was another review that said that it does not have the touch screen facility, the touch screen facility works perfectly on my machine.

Def will return this item, the description says it is touch screen but it’s NOT, please change it so people don’t get mislead.
