This kit had more than enough line to facilitate me hanging some nice cafe lights around my backyard. The LED string lights I purchased separately look great and were super easy to install with this kit. as an added plus there was a sagging door on the pool equipment shed and I was able to use the line and a turnbuckle from the kit to stabilize and correct that door hanging and swing.

This amazing kit has everything you need to properly hang your outdoor string lights. Oh, you could screw a couple of hooks here and there and dangle the lights on them, but with this kit you’ll ensure your lights are properly hung and are going to stay properly hung. We got a similar kit for hanging our outdoor sail and it makes a world of difference when you need to tighten or otherwise adjust it. You could use this kit to hang other things as well. We haven’t hung our lights yet, a few more weeks and the weather will be perfect for that, but it was funny that they included an odd number and just 3 of the turnbuckles and caribiners. I haven’t planned it out completely yet, so maybe that will work just fine, but it seems like at least one more of each of those would have been more reasonable. Also, since this kit is for outside, we’ll have to use metal anchors instead of the plastic ones they include. They do include a generous spool of vinyl coated steel cable with the rest of the parts, and that will help make it a lot easier, along with all the other pieces they include.

My string lights are the kind with the large LED bulbs (almost the size of a regular bulb). Because of this when it's windy they start to dance around. In summer it's probably not an issue but in below zero weather I was worried the vinyl coating on the lights could crack. Plus between birds and ice they see plenty of extra weight. As a bonus I could run the lights a full 100 feet without support in the middle. The cable is easy to use. You cut it to length, strip the coating off where you are going to crimp on the sleeve, and then make the loop. Being this small the sleeves are easy to crimp without using a hydraulic crimper. Take your time and it should last a lifetime. The kit includes pretty much everything you will need.

I've been using these types of things for running lights and other stuff around the yard and got this for supporting some string lights. Definitely liking the number of parts that come with it even though I didn't need them all. Now I have some extras for other projects now.Pros:-Main thing I like about this kit is that it covers pretty much any installation method.-Using the whole spool without cutting anything you have enough parts to run roughly 6: 27ft spans between the eye straps. Of course, it all depends on how you plan to install it.-Quality is good too with stainless steel you don't have to worry so much about corrosion. 304 stainless can still technically rust but it holds up very well in most environments and the Aluminum parts shouldn't have any issues.-The wire is durable enough for the task of hanging stuff with little worry about breaking even if you have to put some tension on it. That plastic coating helps keep the wire from rusting too so that's a bonus.

This is a nice kit. Has all the parts you'd need to string a line to secure something over a length of open space, mainly string lights per the seller, but you could use it for anything.I have yet been able to install it since it's currently sub zero degrees Fahrenheit outside - but I have, many times, used all the supplied parts in my past. All of the parts appear to be good quality and will perform as expected. It comes with a handy little wrench but you will need a cutter & crimper which you can buy here on Amazon for about $20 if you do not have one already. You can search Amazon for "Stainless Steel Wire Cable Crimping Tool Kit".I do have 2 complaints. The kit comes with 3 carabiners and 3 turnbuckles which, simply said, is not enough. They should supply 6 or 8 of each, or at least 4, tough to work with 3 as generally you use 2 per cable-run due to the limited tightening ability of each turnbuckle leaving 1 extra that won't be all that useful. Also they supply plastic anchors instead of metal anchors. I would recomend using metal anchors instead of the supplied plastic anchors. As anyone can imagine tightening the cable will exert a lot of pressure on the anchor points and plastic is not the best option by any stretch of the imagination. The stainless steel cable is coated which is always my preferred choice. It makes it more resistant, easier to work with and easier to keep clean. The listing says 164' (50 meters) and this does appear to be accurate, it may actually be a little longer. All supplied parts (less the aluminum clamps) are stainless steel including the screws. All stainless parts is great and generally increases the cost of things. Of course stainless steel resists rust so being an outdoor product stainless steel is required. For $40 the value (value is defined as quality or quantity vs cost) is decent but likely you'll need to purchase some additional turnbuckles and carabiners and a crimper/cutter tool so I cannot say the value is great but it's definitely decent or fair.Lastly, I would not recomend using the plastic inserts even in concrete. I recommend disregarding the plastic anchors enitrely. The tension needed to keep the cable from drooping will likely pull them out. You should use metal concrete anchors for concrete and the supplied stainless steel screws for wood. You should not install this in sheetrock, siding, etc. The anchor points must be secured firmly into a strong solid surface like wood, concrete, stone, etc.Overall this is a nice stainless steel cable kit. It comes with a lot of parts to get you started and plenty of coated stainless steel cable. You'll need a cutter/crimper and likely some additional parts (turnbuckles and carabiners) if you plan to install multiple cable runs and if you plan to anchor to concrete or similar you should purchase metal concrete anchors instead of the supplied plastic anchors.
