The problem with this chain is that the links are too thin, so they do not have sufficient surface area for the water to cling to, resulting in it spattering as it progresses down the top links. This gauge requires a set of flow cups to catch the spatters.

Easy to put up but I ended up having to stake the bottom of it. The chain itself is very lightweight so with heavy rain and wind it goes flying

I don't know what I expected honestly - maybe a little more to it? I mean it does work - well actually - so there is that. We were originally looking for the rain bells but I came across this and thought why not give it a try - it'd be less noticeable than the bells - and like I said - definitely works, just wasn't what I expected overall.

This was fine until it wasn’t because of high winds.

It is exactly what I expected. It looks nice and is easy to use. It is a lot more light weight than I expected.

Pros: Catches most the rain! An improvement over having no downspout! Easy on the eye.Cons: Heavy rains some will fly off away. Not the most elegant or design nuanced.Summary: If you're looking for a first rain chain give this a try. It will catch a lot of the water, improve the sound of it falling. I'm glad to have it. The black loop chain does recede from view and has a simple line of vision that is not too distracting. Rain chains can become pretty complex, and I find this is a great started chain!! If you wish to direct the water falling off it away, black a runway block to direct the water away from the structure, easy to purchae at any home improvement store.

I guess you can call any chain a rain chain but this is just cheap and tacky.

This is a lightweight and simple linked rain chain and as such, it doesn't handle a lot of water from heavy rains. I was going to use it from a gutter that is 16' above the ground, but there's too much splashing. You do need an anchor at the bottom to hold it on place and a mount to hold it at the opening of the gutter above
