Temp control is to the tenth of a degree. The probe is long enough to get it away from the wall and floor where the unit is plugged in. Simple review is that it works well. Buy one and you won’t regret it.

Although you may have to adjust the temperature To match the room temperature, It will work much better than the thermostat in most heaters.

I compared the temperature sensor reading of this controller to a digital thermometer that I know is better than half degree F accuracy. I placed the sensor inside the housing of my digital thermometer so they would get the same air temperature. This controller tracked my sensor within a tenth of a degree. Great accuracy! By the way, you have to hold the set button for a few seconds to flip from C to F, then it remembers you want F.I plugged an electric room heater into the controller. Set the on temperature to 71.9 and the off to 72.0F. After the room warmed to 72 the relay inside the unit clicked and the heater turned off. After a couple minute, the unit clicked on and off several times within second. I looked at the temperature reading and it was jittering back and forth between 71.9 and 72.0, so I realized I needed a bit of separation to prevent wear on the relay. I found it best in this situation to give 0.4F separation at a minimum to help limit the number of cycles. That is really tight for a temperature control. Ran it all day and it cycles nicely and maintained even room temperature. I'm using this controller because the knob on the cheap heaters gave many degrees of swing for on/off making me too hot and too cold.During my heating, I unplugged the controller from the wall to simulate a power failure. After plugging it back in, the controller resumed operation at the setting I previously set. That is good news if you are running it on something when you are away.So as I previously mentioned, I wanted something to run my room heater more accurately. But sometime when it is very cold out I want to prevent the garage from freezing. With this controller I can accurately set a low temperature, maybe 40 degrees and cut it as close as possible to save electric.This unit will also do cooling control. If you set the ON temperature above the OFF temperature, the controller automatically goes to cooling mode where it will turn on the relay when it is to warm. I am considering using this on an RV refrigerator because the knob control on it is very touchy. So I may need a few more of these controllers.The clicking of the relay can be heard but it is not loud. The air noise from the fan is louder. It is nice that it is a relay and not electronic switch as a relay gives full power to the output.I did not try the timer function as I do not have a need for that. It does have several time modes and could be useful for some.The display does not have a backlight but it's quite readable in normal light. The viewing angle is from below the buttons. Since I had mine plugged in 18 inches of the floor, I had to get on the floor to read the display. My phone was useful to give some extra light. If your outlets have the ground the opposite direction, then you would be reading it from above with the info upside down.The was a short plastic rod in the box which had no explanation of what it is for. Saw this rod is included in other brands without explanation too.

This auto controller is great for temperature control in the winter where pipes could freeze. What’s really nice is that you can set both upper and lower limits where ever you like. Great price as well.

Came without directions. Yay. Kinda have it working but wish I could use the functions I purchased it for-no clue how though.

The most confusing instructions ever. No doubt written by someone who does not speak English as a first language. Plus no toggle between C and F, makes it even more confusing to use.
