This is a fairly simple item, so it's hard to say too much about it. It seems put together pretty well. Even where the wire mesh (wrapped around the side -- it's a strip of mesh, like a fence, bent into a circle to make the sides of the item), it is nicely knitted together where each end meets, so there is minimal risk of poking or scratching your fingers. My one issue about the item itself is that, although it is low center of gravity and weighted nicely, it is nearly frictionless on a desk. It should really come with some little foam pad or grip sort of feet -- nothing extravagant, just four little circles enough to keep it from sliding around. It would cost them maybe ten or twenty cents extra in manufacturing, I'd guess, for a major upgrade to the product. And my other issue, not about the item design or quality, is the question of value. I'm not specifically comparing or nit-picking the exact price (not appropriate), but generally talking about the value proposition of the item (appropriate for a product review). The value here is hard to reckon, but I think an item small and single-purpose like this needs to be a better value than what is offered here. If value is not so important to you, this is probably still a very good item, particularly if you don't mind also buying a few stick-on feet to fix the other issue with the item.

This is a well-made black mesh holder. It feels very sturdy and rigid, not easy to bend. I will be using this on my desktop to keep small binder clips within easy reach. The black mesh is very stylish looking and goes well with any color scheme. On my white desk at home it fits the classic black and white look. On my wood grain work desk, it does not draw a lot of attention and looks professional. I am extremely satisfied with this product.
