I needed a 5 volt optical sensor for an Arduino project I was working on and this 5v sensor works perfectly with the Arduino board. The distance sensitivity can be adjusted with a small pot on the back of the sensor. The output wave form is pretty clean as seen in the photo on the oscilloscope. Positive connection is red, negative connection is green, and yellow is the NPN output. So far i'm very happy with this sensor's performance for the price point.
