I've given this many times, after vaccines mostly. I trust more natural things for my dogs and like to remove toxins if I can. I am impressed.

I was willing to try due to the fact that I couldn't afford to take both dogs to the vet and the vet would not see them unless I talked with poison control 1st. Then poison control would not talk to me unless I paid 85 bucks 1st. So I called a friend to see if they had any suggestions. VetDetox is what was recommended. So here I go 1 store to next store to next store. No one has it. Then I see a Amazon delivery truck. Thinking 🤔 maybe they have it. Talk about being a happy camper when I find it on Amazon. I immediately start to give it to them. 1 dog was so bad her mouth was clamped shut, I had to use a syringe to give it to her. By the 2nd day 1dog was wobbly but still got up to drink water on his own even ate a little girl dog still couldn't walk but was drinking. 3rd day girl was wobbly and drinking on her own. Fast forward. They are both up and running back to being themselves. Phew! It was a close call. And it saved me hundreds I don't have for vet bill. And it was a good size container so I have extra in case they get into trouble again.

Our furry friends are always getting into things that they shouldn't, especially Labs. Keep this on hand to help bind up and safely pass through stuff your pup shouldn't be eating, like chocolate. Call the Vet first. Chances are, this will be the recommended first aid measure until you get your pup to the Vet clinic.

CaseDog's were poisoned by various rat poisons. This combined with Phos-Bind for pets also available over the counter on Amazon are the 2 poison binders I have found available over the counter. This activated carbon seems to be specifically designed to bind with poisons. At least works noticeably better than the rest. Both depend on continued function of the kidney and liver.Keep dog well hydrated .5L to .75L of water per day, per 10kg, of doggie weight. Higher water during 1st week after exposure.Dr. Harvey Kidney Health (available on Amazon) and Hills Kidney K/D prescription diet, are very helpful to the continued function, and health of the dogs kidney and liver.Prednisone was prescribed. This helps keep the poison from rebinding with the body. The poison is recirculating in the bile. As the poison is designed to keep doing. Prednisone keeps the symptoms of wasting at bay. When prednisone is removed, the wasting symptoms will resume, if poison is still present in the body.A prophylactic dose of metronidazole was used. Helpful for digestive health during the poisons attack on that system.Dewormer was successful with reducing mucus on dog stool.Supplements of turmeric and ginger, I used gummies. This helps with bile production, where the activated carbon, and Phos-bind will bind with poison. Don't over do the turmeric. Recommend amount for dog weight of 10kg is 500mg. You can overstimulate kidney bile production. Don't overdo the Turmeric.Supplement of apple cider vinegar for the liver. Make sure it's ONLY ACV not additional vitamins or minerals. Use gummies, as these are not as acidic as raw ACV and much easier on doggie tummies. Serve with water.Probiotic helps greatly. Missing Link, is sold on Amazon, and has been successful for me.I was not able to get a prescription for vitamin K, so I used Yunnan Baiyao for clotting successfully. This is also available on Amazon.Anemia from reduced kidney function was treated with iron supplement. This can also be over used. Don't be afraid to cut the pills up.Takes a long time. Plan on checking the dogs gums everyday for a year to monitor kidney function. This is the best activated charcoal I have found for dogs.

My dog doesn't like taking this in her water by itself but if I add about half a tablespoon of low-fat cottage cheese to the water and ac powder she goes crazy and slurps it all up and licks the bowl clean.I primarily use it for poisoning as my 4 month old blue heeler puppy eat everything and anything she can find and is still in training so this is my default and it saves me hundreds of dollars in vet bills she also has a very sensitive tummy and eats goose poop and this helps with loose stools and will firm them back up.this is probably the absolute best staple you can have in your cupboard especially considering my puppy refuses to take hydrogen peroxide to get her to vomit. It's fairly easy to figure out dosage. Just make for sure that they always have water at all times after taking this due to the salt content which is not listed. My dog recently got into chocolate and I gave her this and she has been fine.also in a scenario like the one above make for sure you call the vet when you have to dust them with activated charcoal for poisoning of such a nature.also do your research because for some poisoning incidences activated charcoal will not work so don't over use it for your own security.

After using this enough times its about time for a review:This came with plenty of pamphlets and helpful information about the product. This has saved my dog's life as a first response to poisoning. She climbed onto the table (didnt know she was capable of reaching that high) and got hold of a whole box of chocolate. In order to get her to eat the charcoal I either mix it with peanut butter or with plain nonfat greek yogurt and she will eat every last spec. You can also add it to their water but she doesnt like it in that form. Make sure to never serve it to a dog dry, inhaling activated charcoal can damage a dog's lungs and be dangerous.(Also note, during these emergencies always call or visit the vet even if they SEEM okay)This is also good to have on hand when your dog is having diahrrhea issues and theres other uses listed in the product pamphlet.Be aware this is very messy and can stain if not cleaned up right away. The powder is super fine and easily puffs up at the slightest breeze so do be careful.
