My grandchildren still play with this toy a lot. It has multiple functions and when they come over, they always play with it.

It's great for the price, but it is a bit flimsy. This is a "you get what you pay for" item. It functions, but cheaply. It plays sound, but not beautifully. It has all of the colors and amusement, but looks dull. I got it for My one year old who's only crawling at 12 months. It's a tad smaller than I thought it would be, but baby loves it.

This product is a perfect gift for babies. It’s educational and fun to use for babies. This help brain development while the baby is playing. The sound is good. The mat is not too big nor too small.. it’s just the right size for my baby.

Not as "hefty" as I expected. Nice enough. Grand-babies like it!

This could be such a fun toy for a baby or toddler to play with if it were just a little easier to press the buttons. They are just too hard for little ones to push, and I can't imagine anyone being able to wield the drumsticks with enough muscle to get a sound out of the mat. A toddler walking on it gives the most chance for sound to come out. (Of course, this is after you've loaded it with three AA batteries in the screw-shut battery compartment.) The mat itself seems thick enough, but as other reviewers have noted, there are misspellings on it, which has the effect of cheapening the whole thing.

This play mat could be used without the music, but the music is so much fun. It requires 3 AA batteries which can only be accessed with a screwdriver. There is a button on the speaker to turn the mat on or off. Pressing the demo button causes the speaker to play one of several different popular children's songs. There is a "stop' button on the mat to turn off the demo songs. There are several drums on the mat as well as well as a drum cymbal that makes a fun cymbal sound. I like the keyboard the best though. I was able to play some songs on the one octave of notes. There were some interesting choices made with the mat. One choice was to put two volume buttons on the mat (one up and one down). This allows for an infant playing on the mat to (inadvertently?) turn the volume all the way up (possibly annoying parents) or all the way down (possibly confusing or distressing the infant). A volume knob on the speaker might have been a better choice. The mat also came with two plastic drum sticks. I think an infant crawling on the mat is going to be far more successful in getting the notes to play; I don't think an infant or toddler would have enough coordination to hit the notes with a drum stick.
