These are nice shelves. They are the type you would often see in stores and are completely flexible because you can adjust the level that these are set to on the poles using the connectors provided. You will need to provide your own 1-in diameter metal poles (they often come in packs with leveling feet). The plastic tapered connectors that fit inside the shelves and on top of the poles/legs to hold the shelving at the desired level were included with these shelves. I used the connectors that they provided and they worked. I do recommend using a rubber mallet to tap the shelves on each corner after. The metal legs/ pole set I ordered was from a completely different manufacturer from the shelving and it was still compatible and works well.It had said that these can hold hundreds of pounds of items. I have an item that's more than 100 lb most likely on one of them and it appears to be true in my case that they can indeed hold a lot. They are welded. The metal also appears to be corrosion resistant. This is a great shelving unit if you have a large pantry and want to store many canned goods or similar items.I had a rather unconventional use case for them. I am raising baby chickens right now and they are placed so that the chickens are underneath them where I have attached the heat lamp with their feed and bedding on the shelving above inside of a metal shed. I have a large plastic tote holding a three-wire straw bale on one shelf. And I have at least 40 lbs of chicken feed in a bucket on the other one. Because the plastic connections are tapered to be wider at the bottom. When you set weight on the shelves, they lock down tighter onto the legs.I wish I knew about these shelving units sooner and the entire system that goes with them sooner. They are a very flexible, strong solution that can certainly hold a lot of weight. They are also very easy to clean if needed and can be adjusted however you need it for your situation. The wire of the racks is based closely enough that a lot of different items should be able to fit without falling through and also contributing to the strength of the shelves. I tried to take some close-ups of the welds.Very happy with them overall.
