I ordered this two-pack of exercise cards to add some variety to my workouts. It's very easy to get into the same old workout routine, and it not only becomes boring but also limits muscle growth opportunities as the muscles get used to the same routine.I use these card decks to generate workouts on the fly. I'll take the dumbbell set of cards and pull out 2-3 cards for each body part. That will be the workout for the day. I'll take the same approach with the Yoga deck. I don't do this for every workout, but I try to do it at least once or twice a week to add variety to the workout. The cards do a good job of both showing the workout and identifying the body areas worked. It's so much easier to quickly generate a new workout and know that you're hitting all the body parts you want to work on that day.Overall, I highly recommend these decks to anyone who wants to shake up their workout routines!

This is a two deck set of exercise callisthenic exercises and yoga poses that are both concise yet detailed. At first the usefulness of a card deck might be obvious. This very small form factor makes it great for travel, and even while at home, the accessibility of a subset of the cards (organized and sequenced via a sequence card, or by use of category labels, makes it much easier to follow the cards in place of a book. If you are a person who likes to create a daily and weekly to monthly exercise spreadsheet, the appeal of a card deck might be less. But for those who less rigorously adhere to a fixed training schedule, this deck is a good way to go, while maintaining a more systematic approach. For example when using the exercise (callisthenic cards) each card lists the body area worked i.e., “upper body” and gives accurate instructions for doing, with Repetition suggestions for to match one’s level such as beginner, intermediate, advanced. In the pictures, the exercise cards are blue. There are a total of 51 exercised explained in cards. For me, the yoga deck is more impressive. I say this because the instructions are very accurate, detailed, yet concise. The instructions for each pose is listed in bullets under “How to do the Pose”. The line drawing that appear on each card are very accurate and anatomically correct. Each card is marked with functional use, i.e., it is card with a balance pose, or a strength building pose, or it is a posture to be used in warm up. Additionally cards list level of practice: beginner or intermediate. Only these two level are offered. Some of the intermediate posed depicted are at the high end range of intermediate. There are two sequence cards the suggest a subset of cards and the sequence in which they are to be done, as yoga should be done with a lot of thought to sequencing to balance the body. These cards will be excellent for a beginner or someone who is early in their practice. Access and use of the cards is more flexible than using a book. For a more advanced practitioner, the cards have limited use. However, find that this deck of postures, is excellent for Yoga Teacher training purposes. They are excellent for teaching the finer points of sequencing, and can serve has a useful prompt for group discussion of types of postures.

This is a review of 2 Pack - Dumbbell & Yoga Pose Exercise Cards - Fitness Workout Playing CardsFrom the Palace Learning Store
I ordered these cards as a way to mix up my exercise routines and make them more fun. The cards have a large drawing of how to do the exercise on one side; the other side explains how to do the exercise and shows the how-to drawing in miniature. The dumbbell cards also include a diagram of the muscles being worked. Of course, only so many instructions can fit on something the size of a playing card, but many cards not only explain how to do the exercise, but also offer tips on when to breathe and possible modifications. I am very pleased that the yoga poses are identified both with an English name and the Sanskrit name. The cards offer a variety of exercises and asanas that address different needs. The cards make it easy to identify the focus of each exercise, since at the bottom of each card is a a notation that indicates a category, such as total body, strength, balance, stretching, core, upper body. Some days I plan a particular routine in advance, then do the exercises as I go through my chosen set of cards. I’ve also pre-selected a set of cards as exercises I can do , so some days I just randomly pick from those. The yoga cards have a number at the bottom so I can jot the down number of a sequence I like quickly. The dumbbell cards don’t have those handy numbers, so to notate a sequence I have to write down the name of the exercise (I wish the dumbbell cards had those numbers, too.)
The cards have pleasing illustrations and the font is clear and easy to read. The instructions are clearly written and easy to follow. These cards are sturdy and have a smooth finish suitable for wiping off if they get dirty; they can withstand being tossed around during the exercise session. Although I still use online information and my many books on yoga and exercise, these cards make it easy to focus on the session at hand without having to flip back and forth through a book. I’m enjoying using these cards, and anything that helps me exercise more is a win. At about $4, the price when I ordered, I think these are a good deal.
