A bit firm and not too bulky. I think the firmness will help them hold up longer. I'd be afraid soft would be wear and squish down quickly.They dry fast. They fit around both my xl husband's folding chair and my regular one with ease. I use one for a headrest, and the other for a lumbar support. The buckle seems solid so far. They don't slide around unless I want them too. Would buy again.

We bought this to replace a headrest that went flat and the elastic stretched out.This one is firm and has an adjustable strap so it should last.

It fits fine on my outdoor rocking chair and doesn't slip down. It's just the right amount of thickness/cushion to feel comfortable behind my neck.
