This has been so good! Usually when washing shoes they will bounce against the door and pop open the front door and shut off the dryer. Using these has gotten rid of that issue. It has also helped when I have washed shoes with the laces in to prevent them from tangling into the towels or whatever else is in the dryer. I swear it also makes the shoes cleaner somehow than washing them alone without the bag. Love it!

I'm very impressed with the workmanship on these shoe bags. The stitching is superb - all the stitches are tight and even. There are no skipped or loose stitches and no loose threads. They even sewed bias tape over the seams on the round ends of the bag. The zipper - which slides open/closed smoothly - is sewn in securely with even, tight stitches. Honestly, whoever sewn this together did a terrific job.The only "negative" regarding workmanship is they didn't serge the fabric edges where the zipper is sewn in, so the edges are quite frayed. However, the fabric has a reasonably good weave to it and the seam allowance is large, so it's unlikely that these unfinished edges will fray to the point of failure for a while.So ... do they work for cleaning shoes? Well, yes, they do, although the type of shoe you are washing and how dirty it is matters a lot. I washed a pair of canvas boat shoes that were quite stained, and they were about 70% cleaner after one wash. Considering how badly stained they were, this was a major improvement; I'm happy with the result. (I probably should have let the prewash stain spray soak in for longer before washing.)I washed a pair of cheap sneakers that have a lot of vinyl/pleather trim and velcro-style fasteners instead of laces. I didn't fasten the velcro straps before washing, so they ended up absolutely covered with yellow fuzzies/lint that took some time to pull/brush out of the velcro. Oddly, the inside of the shoes came out cleaner than the outside - I ended up handwashing the outside with a brush and some soapy water. Having said that, the inside of the shoes was easily 90% cleaner and smelled much better.Finally, I washed a very dirty pair of old Skechers slip-on walking shoes. The outside of these shoes washed up very nicely, I'd say easily a 85-90% improvement. On the other hand, the inside of these seemed to clean up only somewhat, maybe 10-20% cleaner, although they do smell a lot better.Some tips for better shoe washing results:- Spray dirty spots/stains with some prewash stain remover before inserting your shoes in the bag.- Don't overcrowd the washer. I found it best to load my machine about half full but set water level to full load level. These need to be able to move around your washer in order to get good water flow through them.- If there's any velcro on your shoes, you will get some yellow fuzz/lint from the chenille fabric stuck on the velcro. To limit yellow fuzzies, close any velcro straps as fully as you can.- Remove shoe laces. Opening up the shoes as much as possible improves water flow into the shoes. You can put the removed shoe laces inside the bag with the shoes if you want, or just handwash laces separately.- Even though these are big enough you could easily fit two or even three shoes inside one bag, I found they work best with just one shoe per bag at a time.I do want to mention that while these are intended to be used for washing shoes, you can use them to wash other items. I threw all our winter gloves and mittens into one bag (about half full), and it did a great job washing them! All came out very clean! I usually avoid machine washing our gloves/mittens because some of them have a tendency to get stuck under the agitator; washing them in this bag prevented that from happening. While I haven't tried yet, I do think this bag could be used for washing some delicate items, socks, and other small washable items.Overall, I'm glad I ordered these and have found them to well made, useful and a good value.

So in all fairness I have only used them once with my son’s shoes. It really didn’t do too much of a difference in the wash. They still looked grungy and smelt. They did however keep the shoes from banging in drier and wash. Gonna give them another try with other shoes.
