I was surprised to see how affective it was...we had this with us going on day/weekend trips..and using it to reseal chip bags and things like that..where we wanted snacks but didn' want them to spill out in the car or get stale and yucky..we also had some fresh fruit and dried fruit bags as well...this came with batteries ,,so it doesn't need to be plugged in to use...the bag sizes we had weren't large and weren't a thick plastic- we cut off the sealant end of the freezer bags we used and ran the sealer end of this product and each bag it closed it up perfectly..the cutter on the other side is like a knife for cutting boxes,,it looks like a mini box cutter...it's super sharp,.. so not safe for kids.. haven't had any issues at all

The Handheld Bag Sealer is a convenient tool for sealing plastic bags. It works as expected, providing a quick seal to keep food fresh. The device is compact and easy to store. However, it may take a few tries to get the hang of using it effectively, and it doesn't work great on potato chip bags, Overall, it’s a useful gadget for occasional use.

Honestly this thing is supper cool. At first I didn't think it would make a big difference because we can just use chip clips. But this keeps chips and other stuff fresh for longer. Love it

First off, the sealer that I have is completely navy blue but looks like and has exactly the same characteristics as I see in this posting, so it's possible the item I purchased was rolled into this item...but everything looks the same. I ordered this to seal some excess coffee beans into some nicer-quality vacuum-seal bags to keep the beans fresher longer. The sealer is very simple to use; simply switch it on and then slide it along the bag edge that you're sealing. I had to slide it 3 times over the coffee bags I sealed as the bags were thick and had the expanding sides that give you the fold at both sides of the top's edges - the coffee bags have been sealed for about 2 weeks now, and I am VERY happy with this sealer. I've also used it on potato chip bags with excellent results. I find this much easier to use than the fancy vacuum sealer I used to have. (And WAY less expensive!)

One of those things you never thought you'd need and that if you have chip bag clips or just office paper clips or binder clips, you're good. BUT HEAR ME OUT! This thing is amazing. USB rechargeable so there's no need for batteries. It's small so it doesn't take up counter or drawer space, and it seals bags! Anything thin enough it'll seal it. You just slide it, very slowly, over the bag you need to seal and it seals it. The potato chip bag that's full of air? It'll create a fresh seal so the tiny amounts of chips inside will remain fresh. Small bags of pasta, you can seal that so the pasta doesn't fall out and stays fresh. DO practice though, because the thinner the bag the faster you should move this, because it'll melt through the plastic otherwise.

For the price I'm glad to have this around. It takes 2 AA batteries, which it comes with. No clue on battery life yet, but hopefully it's decent. I had a little trouble figuring out how to reattach the battery door at first, but it seems easy enough once you have the hang of it. I do wish there was some sort of indicator light to let you know when it's on, both to be sure no one in my house leaves it on by mistake and because it's an item that heats up. There is a slight learning curve to use, but they include a few tester bags in the box so you can practice. If you press down too hard you'll melt a hole through the bag rather than sealing it. A light squeeze is all you need. Having looked at a number of these before I chose this one, I'm glad that the cutter piece isn't a blade that slides out, just another section at the opposite end to slide along the bag. Seems safer that way. We recently had a bit of a pantry moth infestation. We invested in a lot of airtight containers to store our grains and such, but sometimes you're out of containers or you don't have anything the right size on hand. Being able to reseal packages will futher help us keep out the pests!
