If you have a Makita tool set, this adapter is ideal to power other devices using the Makita batteries you already have.I used this for a Soldering gun, making it a portable soldering station for use around the house or in the car.Recommended.

This is a nice "easy button" for incorporating a standard Makita LXT 18V battery (BL1830, BL1840, BL1850, BL1860, etc) into your next project. 16ga wires and an inline fuse are great for managing a good amount of current. It also includes 6 total fuses; one in each fuse holder and 4 spares.To test how well it fits, I plugged in several Makita-brand batteries as well as several different 3rd party "Makita compatible" batteries of varying capacities. The locking tab keeps everything connected but the fit isn't terribly tight and things are able to flex and wiggle around. The contacts are big and beefy but for good current delivery but they aren't perfectly aligned, so keep an eye on that if it's going into a project that moves around a lot.The switch on the positive line is a nice touch, allowing you to turn off power to your project without having to remove the battery.There are two real issues I found that bear consideration (and the reasons why I took 1 star off):The first is that the label states it has an 8A max output but the included fuses are 30A. That's a huge gap for a safety measure. I'd have preferred to see them include a 10A or 15A fuse instead. 30A over one or two feet of 16ga wire will generate quite a bit of heat and I'd worry that the fuses wouldn't blow fast enough to save the wiring (and your project) from burning. I'd be less concerned if the wiring used silicone sheathing rather than the standard PVC.The second is that the soldering job on the little distribution PCB is... not great. It's functionally fine but it wouldn't take a significant reduction in QC to lead to a shorted connection.All in all, a good product for the price. Just keep an eye on the load and if things stop working, double-check the soldering.

This is a great way to put power tool batteries to use during an emergency. The adapter fits securely on all of my Makita 18V batteries. I really like that it has a built-in on/off switch.The wires are 16AWG, and the included fuse is a 30A, which seems a little large for a device of this type, considering the 8A max rating printed on the label.

Sure, these adapters are great for using your Makita type/compatible batteries with a Power Wheels toy...but I use these for MY TOYS instead 😉These battery shoes fit perfectly on all my Makita-type batteries and allow me the flexibility to use the 30+ batteries I have lying around - mostly 6Ah batteries - with everything that runs from 18~20vdc.Those tools that I bought, the ones that came with a single battery? I use these to retrofit my battery powered tools so that they can all use the SAME TYPE OF BATTERY. What a concept, right? Using these adapters creatively and with good fabrication practices can result in some awesome results for your battery operated tool collection.If you see tools being sold without a battery included, and it's not a type of battery that you currently have in your aresenal...this is your solution!Of course such a thing can be done with any battery adapter for any brand. I just have a ton of Makita-type stuff.Most cheap (no-branded & rebranded) battery powered tools use a Makita-type battery, so these adapters set me free!They're solidly built, include an inline fuse (plus extra fuses) and they have a very good price point for what they are - and especially for what they allow me to do!Buy these adapters, save your money on batteries, start a revolution 🤣Two thumbs up for a VERY useful device!

They're very simple. They work just fine. Make sure you know what you're doing, because you can damage batteries if you drain them too far.
